4-5 females would be perfect for my flower room, so 1 male per pack wouldn't be too bad. I have been averaging 1-2 males per 5-6 pack. I've still got 2 Ghost Train Haze Males I'm trying to decide what to do with, so I don't know if I'm going to keep the males off of these seeds, or pull them. |

So I'm assuming that you have have 3 - 6's in the flower room? What are the flower room dimensions? Or maybe you could just tell us what your watt per 2ft is? This info would help people to know what to expect in their rooms with similar WP2ft with whatever results you experienced. Also good to see ya running a decent size container at five gallons...means we are talking about enough root space for a decent sized plant!!!? Alien Dog is just going to love having his plant in a room that will be able to really express a plants potential. What kind of veg time are you going to give them? I know you will be playing it a bit by ear with all the unknowns of running a tester but a general idea would be cool considering what kind of stretch they they could possible exhibit would have with overly long veg. You will be playing the balancing game for sure. All in all I have to hand it to you Disco and the other test growers who are adventurous enough to take on unknown, unproven genetics and use valuable space in their gardens for a chance maybe at something different or special. peace Joe |

The flower room is an 8x5 box with 3 600w Ushio Hi-lux Opti-red lights set at 2', 4', and 6', straight down the middle of the room. I am trying to mimic Marlo's WOW thread to a degree. Eventually I'll have a Blumat system and light pulley system, too.
As far as veg time goes, I am looking at 3-4 weeks of veg before I flip them into flower. I have a round of Starbud finishing up that will be making room for the future females. I won't be keeping a male off of this round, unless some serious potential can be seen. |

After a few days, only five are progressing. One of the seedlings had a rooting issue and was not digging into the soil and taking hold. All of the other seedlings are making their way along just fine...
I think the soil may have been too compacted, so the root was just spiraling into itself instead of going straight down. I'll post a pic in a bit, of the other five seedlings, once I've eaten some food and make the short journey to water. |

Sounds like a solid path to good things,bro... 5 of 6 will work and I suspect Border Haze may well shine in soil versus a hydro environment... Soil being what she was created in... I've begun to notice a susceptibility to VPD issues if her environment Air flow/RH are not dialed and above normal temps are had... More so than most other flavors have shown. Wonder if the same would be seen in soil but lets not find out...lol She will take just about anything (training wise) you can throw at her in veg though.. Easily clones as well... Quote:
A touch loco as you would hope with Mexican genetics...lol I was hoping to find more of the Mexican side than I have thus far and hoping there are more pheno than I've seen... We will know more in a few months... She has a great hazy spice to her and with some work could become something special,someday..

They've exploded compared to where they were! These 5 are under way, and will be transplanted into their next phases of pots within the week.

The Five Border Hazes were transplanted into bigger pots with amended soil. They will go into 5 gallon buckets in a week and a half or so, depending on how big they are by then. I want monsters!
