Ach, I wish I didn't have to post that crap, but alas... To ALL PEOPLE who possess genetics coming from Chitral district In Pakistan (Kalash valleys, Chitral valley, Yarkhun valley, Laspur valley,...) make you sure you take the greatest care of these, and make sure to reproduce & share them around. The local situation has recently taken a new nasty twist which might greatly impair the possibility to obtain fresh genetics from there if not put a direct blow to the local genepool. Both repression and climate change (inducing more floodings and lanslides with whole village wiped out sometimes...) have already been a direct hit to local production which ws already pretty low when I was there in 2002. With this new crap bound to unleash, days ahead look pretty grim for Chitrali hash production & genetics. Articles below explain in more details what's going on, but to make things short, last week them taleban have declared the Kalash people and Ismaelis of Chitral as their next target. Their message is simple "convert or die"... That's fucked up and bad, really bad... :( I'm planning to go back there later this year, but I just don't know if it will be possible... It's sad to read that... we hope the situation may change soon. Fanatism has never brought anything good, anywhere.
We will take good care of the Pakistan strains we have around like the Purple Chitral or Yarkhun. X18 and PTK are still in good hands as well. Goog to read from you brother, Good Vibes! |
