Autoflowers outside in Colorado
Hey Tommy,
I am planning on germinating around 150 auto flower seeds on May 31st for the upcoming 2014 season. I will be starting them in half gallon pots then moving them up to 5 gallon pots 2 weeks into growth. My location is 39.5 degrees North. I am at 9000' feet elevation with wonderful soon during the summer months. I grew around 50 outside last year, left my mothers outside all summer. The plants did wonderful. The plants simply did not finish because of our short growing season. If the plants could be done first week of August or even towards the end of August, then they would have amazing sun. I'm thinking I can average 4 oz's per plant with proper pruning and feeding. Which strains would you recommend? I am really looking into your Auto Jack 47 and some others. I am looking to only run a few strains to keep it easy breezy. Much love guys and gals turbo

Hi mate!
Thanks for the visit and comments Sounds like a good plan, hehe ![]() Did you considered our F1 Fast Version (non-auto) strains? I'm sending you a PM with an article we wrote for a magazine a week ago so that you understand all about the concept and I'll leave this thread to what you want to know, which is about autos. I live really very far away from you, in south Europe, but I think the season is quite similar to yours. Maybe here we can grow until mid September without major problems while you guys need to have them ready by the end of August. If you germinate them on May 31st then you can expect to chop them between the 5th and the 25th of August... and I'm leaving a 20 day margin considering that different autoflowering strains have different finishing times. Maybe doing 3 strains (3x50) would be a good idea? (I think I'd do that if it was me) For me, seeking to get maximum production I would choose Green Poison Auto, Big Devil #2 or Big Devil XL. Seeking for a very good production and an exquisite quality I would choose Cream Mandarine, Jack 47 Auto and Green Poison Auto. Then if you think that, for example, the Jack 47 Auto is probably going to be ready a bit later then the others, and you fear that some could not be ready by the end of August, just look into the possibilities you have of germinating them 1 week earlier than the other strains. Keep us updated, would be wonderful to follow your experience. All the best and sweet smokes!! tommy |

Right on Tommy!
I'm thinking about going with Auto Jack 47 and Big Devil XL. I also have a few other varieties from other breeders I am going to be trying. I also have another property that we are going to put another 150 out on. Is 4oz's + on each plant doable with good sun and good vibes? turbo

Hi again my friend!
Sounds like a nice choice. Yes, if there's good sun and the conditions are good (specially regarding quantity and quality of the soil), then it's possible to get that kind of yield ![]() Maybe not all the plants beat that mark but some (or a lot of them) may do. Nice to know that you'll have strains from other breeders so that you can compare ![]() All the best, sweet smokes! tommy |
