Here's an example, cut an apple then eat half, cut the other half in small pieces and soak in water for half an hour...tell me which one tastes best.
I can see me copping flak for the apples comparison...so try this, take a handful of dry sift, separate into two, soak one half in cold water for as long as you would when making ice water hash, dry it then compare the rinsed hash with the dry sift and let us know if there's any difference. |

Have you ever try to dry sieve and ice water sieve the same trims to be able to judge, I have not so I will not push it further for the moment, I am waiting for my screen to start again dry sieve and put it to test. I have been dry sieving from Morocco to Pakistan and been trained by some serious Afghanis Hashishins for more than a quarter of a century so my love for dry sieve should not be in doubt, I guess my knowledge to a point as well.
The water bring something to the game that I started to study in details, as an example when you put odorless trims in water to soak and the terpenes come back in a matter of minutes, something is definitely happening. I would also love dearly to have you taste some of my ice water hash, may be at one events in the near future. I also do not touch any solvent outside alcohol and the oil is made for cancer patient only and has to be ingested. |

I've made both from the same product and for sure notice a slight taste/high difference between the two, not much.. but it's there.
I remember reading an article on OG way back in the day about diterpene membranes and how they are 'rinsed off' when they go into water, basically erasing some of the flavor and high, as terpenes obviously do *something*.. Even if it's 1% that's rinsed or washed off, some people will still complain haha. |

I have noticed that water hash is much harsher to smoke than good dry sift of mosel sharif shirak quality...

Quote:
Diterpene is a true terpene made of 4 isoprene's units in the molecule. Monoterpenes, sesquiterpenes, and diterpenes are abundant in the essential oils of plants: turpentine contains several monoterpenes, and the rosin acids are diterpenes. Vitamin A is another important diterpene. Only lab test can tell us the difference between dry sieve and ice water. |

I may get blasted for saying this.. but my tongue can tell the difference between dry sift and water hash.
I am willing to bet that given both a high end sift, and a microplaned ice wax that -look- identical.. I could tell the difference in the smoke. Actually, that would be a fun experiment lol.. |
