Messin with Hempy!
Pitting 4 different potting systems against each other... ...For SCIENCE*!
*I can't do this multiple times, so it wont be legitimately scientific.
That said, I'm using 4 clones from the same mom and the only real variable change is the potting system used.



(Left-to-right: Smart Pot, Uber Hempy, Hempy, Smart-Hempy)



The Contenders:


Pot #1 - Smart Pot

2-Gallon Smart Pot
(Obviously not hempy, but more for a control)
100% Brick-Coco and Drain Saucer for run-off.

Hypothesis:
Rival to Hempy when using coco coir as medium.


Pot #2 - Über Hempy

2-Gallon White paint pail with a 1-inch Hempy hole 2" from bottom.
1-gallon innner Rootmaker Pot in bucket lid and Sealed to lid with silicone glue
4" airstone silicone-glued to bottom of bucket
Small whisper air pump hung from bungie for almost-zero sound
Covered in foil tape to keep light from hitting roots--also for additional pizazz[/list]

Hypothesis:
Rapid growth of DWC with flavor and health of Coco.
No need for transplanting. Pop the seed or clone and go.


Pot #3 - Almost-pure Hempy

2-Gallon White paint pail
1-inch Hempy hole, 2" from bottom
Resi filled with Rockwool croutons
100% Brick-Coco from resi up.
2" fiberglass screen for hole

Hypothesis:
K.I.S.S.


Pot #4 - Smart Hempy

2-Gallon White paint pail
1-inch Hempy hole 2" from bottom.
Resi filled with Rockwool croutons
100% Brick-Coco from resi up

Hypothesis:
Smart pot allows air to breath down the side of the plastic pail, and requires no screen.

This looks interesting, pot 2 would be the best bet imho.
