just look for the table with the most people and the most joints being passed around the table with the most animated discussions happening and introduce yourself. hehe...what you could do is wear a shirt that says IC. but name tags are not recommended really.

try and rent something as central as you can, although being willing to stay a bit outside the center makes the places cheaper. you do end up spending more time going back and forth. i great tip imo is the airbnb site for renting a flat or even a room directly off a private host. just as long as you use the site for the payment it's safe as the landlord will only get his money 24 hours after check in if there is no complaint from the guest. hotels are nearly all non smoking now, so this site is a gem imo as you can search for smoking allowed places.
i also recommend renting a bike, it really saves you time and Amsterdam is a perfect city for bike riding. will save you a fortune in bus passes and taxis. i always rent a bike on the first day. |

Sounds like fun! Only thing that sucks is that I have a harvest on April 20 which is the same time as the cup. Don't know if Snypette will be able to go unless there's a crop failure. Sucks. I'm still going though. Can't miss this again.

surely you can postpone harvest by 2 days? then do it when you get back. the plants won't mind the extra 2 days, lol.

The Crowne Plaza is nice and central. You get off the plane go downstairs in the airport grab the train and it's a short walk to the hotel from the train station. Yes, it's non-smoking rooms but I kept that to the coffeeshops and the streets/alleys (which I'm told was the wrong thing to do) worked out for me anyways. A great time getting baked and wandering around eating at every place you see. Wish I could come sounds like fun.

I also have this other problem which makes Amsterdam a drag. I'm kind of a criminal in the eyes of the law so I don't have any credit cards and stuff like that. Hell I don't even have a drivers license but luckily I still have my passport. The world is so fucked up that even though I travel with a stack of cash, no hotel will rent me a room so I'm stuck staying at youth hostels. The last hostel in Amsterdam was a Christian Hostel somewhere around the red light district. OMG did that suck. Asking me to go to bible study everyday and then when I went it was the biggest joke. So while you guys are living it up in your hotels and apartments, I'll be laying in my youth hostel. |
