The smell was so distinct of an odor and it was one hit racy up buzz. Foggy memory but it may have been trainwreck x ak. Smelled like a box of sandalwood incense.

It's funny but there are a few kinds of bud that have left me searching for it. That was one. Another was something ppl called fruit punch. Rankest and stickiest stuff I've ever seen. 80 an 8th and never came back around.

Similar experience arid?
If I remember (there's been so many tried, and true and tried again!!)...possibly it's the Train Wreck that has an earthy type smell. I equated it with a pine smell. Love the sandlewood aroma and can see why you'd want to go after it!! Also have had a few Hazes with some type of incense smell.

Fruit punch....Mmmmm!! Hawaiian fruit punch....reminds me of summer days as a kid. Never had that- sounds delicious!

I do recall a strain reminiscent of smelling tasting & on exhale like Juicy Fruit gum...sticky, a soaring high!!

I've grown Fruit Salad...SGS's auto strain....quite nice...very fruity!! Hybridized it with Blue Himalaya and another with a white strain auto. Po-tent!!!

If I'm growing Bagseeds 12/12 from seed, do I set the light timer to 12/12 from start of germination? I want the lights to be on 6am to 6pm in my pc grow box.

Hello SoulReb-

For germination, you want warmth, not necessarily light. Once your little 'baggins' sprout, set timer at 18:6 or 16:8 for vegetation grow cycle. (see note below....for sexing)

You can low stress train....best way....slip not looped around stem....and gently pull down....then duct tape (easiest method I've tried)....I did with screws and holes @ top of bucket. Like taping string better. Every few days you and bend a little more. You don't want to force branches....they'll snap off or break. Cotton string works well....just no wires to dig into plant stem.

Once you are ready to start the budding process, change the lights to 12:12 or what I like (plants do too) 13:11. Plants will continue to grow about 30% more, but they'll start putting on bud structure.

If you are wanting to sex them....I guess that's why you want 12:12 to start, correct? You'll know which to yank, which to keep in a matter of 2-3.5 weeks.

Once sexed, increase to 18:6 or 16:8. Since you are using cfl's....they will benefit with extra few hours.

When I used to use HID/MH/HPS, I'd do the 16:8.

Now you're ready to rock it out!!!

Thanks for the tips Aridbud. I thought I could just run my lights 12/12 from seed to harvest. Is that possible?

With autos there's no need to change lights to start blooming process.

we use an inexpensive timer and keep it at 18:6 throughout the cycle indoors.

So from seed to harvest....anywhere between 62-75 days on average. Some with more sativa dominant characteristics, it takes a bit longer...80-82 days. And there are differing heights. Anywhere from 14"-36"+.

If you have any further questions...I'll do my best to answer them.

Thanks for your interest in afterthought autos!

how will they do under 24 hr?

You can do 24 hr. However, after experimenting and watching several grows, the 24 hours all the time shows no appreciable advantage (just our experience/opinion). By having dark for 4-6 or 8 hrs.,it allows plants to form a good root structure, but more importantly to better it's nute uptake, crucial for short life of autoflower strains.

20/4 would be better than 24/0 because even if it's a small dark period, it helps greatly with nute uptake and will give you a better overall yield. On another note, colder night temps are what helps with resin production as well, so in theory it would form stickier buds.

18:6 fits better into the schedule of the rhythm of Life for me, at least.

For photoperiod seeds (generally bag seed, be it sativa or indica), in order to grow successfully, 18 hrs light on, 6 hrs off the best to get growth/vegetation, branching out, strong root system. Then switching 12:12 for bud productions, it 'signals' photoperiods that changes in sunlight means to 'bear fruit' if you will.

By having 12:12 cycle throughout, your plants will not produce the end result you anticipate. I've never experimented with a 12:12 grow with photoperiod seeds....I just know they won't be optimum plants/buds at the end.

With all the time, effort and love you put into your cabinet, have for 1st grow a successful one!!!

Can you block some of the light emitted from DVD case to program a longer light schedule? Or....perhaps setting timer to 12 AM (midnight) to 4 PM, then light will be partially absorbed by natural light coming from windows morning through mid afternoon in your home, thus not as detectable.

Aridbud how many weeks should I veg before going 12/12 in my case? I'm going to make sure this box is 100% light proof. Thanks for the timer help.
