How do you know when seeds are mature, should they turn brown on the plant, or does this happen as it dries? Should I wait untill they die?

Good question!! Some seeds never turn brown. Best bet....allow your plant(s)...the seeded one(s) to slowly wither away. The smoke with be in the degradation mode (past prime, trich's amber), a little raspy, but that will ensure your seeds are healthy for future grows.

We have strain seeds that are tiger stripe patterned, brown, tan, light tan and black...depending on genetics. Have an awesome strain with quite smallish light brown seeds. Who knew a small seed could provide such potency? Mmm!

Store them in the dark for a month, not closed up (in baggies or pill bottles)...like a back corner of a cabinet or drawer, linen pantry, etc. Sm. lids/trays, yogurt cups work well for seed drying purposes....and label (FEMALE x MALE) so you'll know what they are when planting time arrives.

Then you can bag em however you like, put in the fridge or cool space. We keep ours in the dark, a back closet (cool/dark).

Light & heat most often affect seeds causing viability to go south.

Had a friend @ AFN (Nelson, R.I.P.) that immediately stored his seeds in the fridge after preening...they grew moldy. Ugh!

This seedy bud would be biased I think as it's just a bitch to smoke but later this year I will when the outdoor run of their seed is done much respect
