Growing In Gold country. How early do you get plants out?
This will be our third summer up in Gold country, but we want to start earlier this year then previous. We did so well with the light dep last year that we want to get 3 crops in this year. We have plants vegging now, and are hoping to have them in their greenhouses by middle of February. Now I know its still mighty cold up there in Feb, but does anyone else think that the Greenhouse will keep it warm enough? I know the first crop ending in mid April will prob not be the biggest yeild or the most dense nugs, but the rent is getting paid either way and we want to grow some pot. Anyone else think this is doable?
Anyone have any experience with flowering during the winter or early spring? Thanks! |

Soil temps can be an issue, as the ground hasn't really warmed up yet. Can make for slow growth. Helps some to get the pots off the ground, maybe on a pallet. And heat those greenies at night, keeping temps in the 50's if possible. Pull tarp still, to keep light cycle 12/12. I have 1000's on light rails in my greenhouse to supplement light in morning/evening and for cloudy days. Last spring crop was beautiful over here..harvested mid May. Good luck.

you are wasting your time if you are still covering a greenhouse this time of year, shit even the last couple months also. There is less then 10 hours of daylight so no need to

It is do-able but don't expect a great yield. Cold temps and reduced solar intensity will make for smaller, less dense buds.

heres a useful link for sunrise sunset times. I figure covering wont be an issue until late march/early april, then maybe start pulling plastic at 6pm to dark time...
