Panama: 10 weeks 12/12 and still pistills only
I have a Panama going that is way behind the rest of my sativa filled room: 10 weeks on 12/12 and still no swelling to be seen. I know there are some long flowering pheno's, but this seems rather extreme to me. Here's a pic:
The Panama is the hairy one in the middle, next to the bulb. At the top there is a Sour Cream and at the bottom a Zamaldelica, both within a week or 2 from harvest. Just my roll of the dice, or is there anything I am doing wrong?

Ace says 74 days, Cannabiogen says 81. She's a true sativa diva, so it may take longer than that, particularly if the lighting is marginal for the strain. Some need more intensity than others, apparently.

I might do that, but after my other ladies have finished. There is some concern longer nights affect thc levels negatively.
I hadn't thought of that, thanks. My 250 watt hps might not be enough.

Could be, although she has yellowed quite a lot and my feeding regimen has been pretty constricted: a light dusting of guano topdressing and a weekly dose of BAC bloom. All my other sativa's do fine, so she would have to be very finicky. I'll stop feeding though.

70 days is just starting for some phenos, as you are finding out.
I do a thunk and zamaldelica that go 120 days easy, under 110 w PLL. Adjust lighting 20 minutes every week or so to get 11/13. You will harvest soon enough, another 40-60 days. Totally worth it. |

Thanks, that's good to hear. Seems I got two extreme pheno's from our friends at Ace and CBG: a really fast Zamaldelica and a really slow Panama. That's fine though, the long flowering ones usually bring something special to the table. I will start shortening the days.
On another note: under the yellow glare of hps I thought pistills were already withering, but it turns out they are turning red. Panama Red, baby!

Here's my Panama now. I'm starving it (fan leaves are yellowing) and reducing light time by 30 min a week (on 11/13 now). It's fox tailing quite alot. It's also very leafy for my taste. What do you guys think?
(top picture is rotated; cola's of this fimmed plant are pretty much horizontal and need support).

I think you got a long flowering Sativa. It does look leafy, but the buds themselves look like they have nice resin. Long and leafy are always chances with a Sat, though muuuuuuuuuuuuuuch less severe with Cannabiogen's or Ace's help. I think you'll be happy you jumped through the hoops she's throwing up when it's all said and done.
Panama red was a favorite of mine in the late 70s-early 80s. I've not had it since. I'm already Sativa heavy but am vacillating between Panama, Golden tiger and Destroyer.... or maybe santa marta gold. :P |
