Hello Fellow 'Fugees / need help!
Hello Buds,
Since i live in a third world country, i was forced to build my own lamp. I managed to build an aluminum "bell" that measures 80 x 130 cms. I fit (3) 400 wt HPS lamps inside. That adds up 1200 wts in total. I have 4 mother plants: 1 Neville´s Haze, 1 Ak 47, 1 Chronic, 1 Kali Mist and 1 Purple Zindica. I am currently vegging for at least one month (even the sativa dominant plants) under (2) 400 wt HPS lamps in 20 cms pots with a mixture of farm soil, peat moss, chicken droppings and forest organic compost and feeding them earth juice flowering and vegging fertilizers. I want to know how many 20 cms pots i can put under my light? I am expecting to put 35 units. 7 X 5 rows. If pots are 20 cms, they would occupy 100 X 140 cms. Am i all right? I´ve always used an indoor flowering - outdoors flowering method, but the sun haven´t been helping, so i´ve decides to flower indoor. Will my plants recieve the right amount of lumens to produce top buds? What yield should i expect? Thank you very much! Terrence aka Aldous |

1200 watts is going to cover an area of around 5 ft by 5 ft, depending what you want for watts per sq ft. 50 per sq ft is recomended. I am not good on cm and stuff cause Im from the states but if you can switch it to inches I will be able to ans better, lol....

2400 watts in 30 sq ft is a lot of light. 7 times 3 rows is probably more realistic, and things are going to be quite crowded there. I would speculate that you could do between 3 and 4 pounds in that flowering area. We probably should take this post to the inside grow thread.......

Hello Bro,
It´s already there, alas, I am not getting a lot of help from the icmag brothers....it seems they are not to fond of us OG ex-members. I guess i´ll have to go trial and error on this. Sometime you gotta do it on your own, and most of the times alone! Last edited by Terrence; 04-26-2006 at 09:57 PM.. |

Well, you see, growing is no mathematics. It all depends on your personal preferences and methods.
6 lamps in 3m flower room are gonna make it preety hot in there and you'll have some serious problem to cool it down. The lamps will have no space between them, you'll have them right next to each other. I would say go with there 3-4x600W cooltubes. Or 3x1000W Last edited by omo; 04-26-2006 at 11:54 PM.. |

Thanks for the reply bro....
The heat is no problem. As a matter of fact its helping me get the temperature right. As i mentioned i am pretty high on the Andes and the nights, even the days, can be pretty cold. I am going ahead with my plans of setting 75 plants in 7 x 7 inch pots under those 2 bells. In all i'll be firing 2400 watts. I hope everything goes well. Best regards, Aldous |
