Yeah I know they exist. Lol none of those are legally produced or sold. The lp's sell some snake oil but no shatter, budder, ISO or anything made using hydrocarbon extractions. I believe they use super critical co2 extractors.

Iso can be used, its not combustible until under high pressure, its merely flammable. to health canada this makes a difference. (caveat, proper lab rx-compounding practices are required)

Super crit is the most popular method, however some use ethanol, and as far as the regulation is concerned it appears iso can be used under a certain procedure and I've seen some stuff that makes me thing that actual rosin presses on large scale could be being used.

again, thye can't offer it due to regulations but they can mix it down in a carrier oil (as you call snake oil)

Not sure about terps beings destroyed in sc. I don't believe so but I could be wrong. The tech was designed for extracting essential oils that are full of terps. Are lp's adding terps to their oils? I don't know how adding pure terms could be bad for you if they aren't bad for you when they come from cannabis. Thanks for correcting me flail. I knew there where severe restrictions on what Lp's could use for extracts. And I still don't believe extracts of any kind will be allowed at first after legalization. Just like edibles they will be delayed. I'm sure they will follow California and Colorado in limiting maximum levels of thc in edibles as well.

IMO...In the next couple of years, all forms of oil extraction like BHO(Open or Closed Loop), Quick Wash(ISO or Grain Alcohol)etc., will become processes used by the home hobbyist to make concentrates for personal use only.

The future of commercially produced concentrates will all be done by "Distillation". Distillation is completely controlled process done in a vacuum that allows for the separation of the 3 most sought after components of Cannabis plant...Terpentines, CBD's and THC and completely safe from explosions and harmful vapors. It collects 99.9% of everything passing through it and leaves 99.9% of contaminates in the boiling flask. The removed Terps can be left out or reintroduced back into both the THC oil and CBD oil making for suberb flavor and aroma(This process is NOT harmful to the user).

I believe as they perfect the distillation process in the years ahead that other cannabinoid will also become available in a pure form, it's just a matter of finding the exact temperature needed to vaporize the cannabinoid saught and collecting it.

PS...Putting "Terps" back into concentrates is not harmful to the user... it would be like saying it's harmful to put the water back into freeze dried food.

Look up Stimulated Moving Bed Chromatography.

You can literally extract from a pesticide ridden pack and pull out all terps, THC, CBD etc in one run and it all comes out clean. That’s right. No chemicals even if it’s been sprayed.

2 LP’s are already starting the patenting license application.
