I dont know what dealers you know, but thats not how it is here. Every dealer I know, and I know more then 10 have multiple strains. Maybe in backwoods small towns or remote cities, but in major areas thats bullshit.

Lots pay 1800 and sell for 150. Some may charge 180, or even 200 if they can. When I was a kid just starting 20 years ago I used to pay 2800 to 3000 and sell an oz for 200-250. Same margins as now.

Beer isnt the same as weed. People buying beer are buying cheap to support an addiction, or to get fucked up. Not all, but most.

They buy their shit beers cause they want to drink 12-24 in a night. Weed is different, its more complex, they arent pounding joints one after the other, playing flip cup with bongs, its more of an experience. Comparing beer to weed isnt a reasonable comparison. Weed you can see quality with the naked eye, beer in a brown bottle all looks the same to Joe Sixpack.

Maybe on a per gram basis judging over priced illegal dispensaries. I went in one the other night when I was out with friends and didnt have any with me just to buy a gram to smoke, in Ottawa they still sell it for $12 to $15 a gram. It all looked like shit.

People buy beer for the same reason they buy cannabis. Some are simply willing to pay more for higher quality of either.

Craft beer craft cannabis. Mass market beer mass market cannabis.

Take the alcohol or cannabinoids out and we wouldn't even know they existed.

Northern Ontario prices are not indicative of Ontario prices as a whole. Yes brick and morder dispensarys will rape you for mids. I've always thought they were for people who don't have real connections. $10 a gram max in any major city in Canada is the "street price" and most are selling for less. It's called overhead. Dispensarys have overhead. Buddy down the road has only his own use as overhead. You can't really judge the market prices off of some obscure website that people just don't use. Unless a significant portion of customers are reporting it's just not accurate. $7 a gram was the average price that was reported in a cross Canada poll recently fwiw.

11K is the cost of doing business, there are expenses no matter what you do and for the 300%+ profit margin and publicly selling an illegal product and not being bothered by the law (at least in BC) most retailers would love to be in that situation.

The black market as we know is over. The way its going in BC and if it is like this for the next 5 months I'm expecting anyone who is not financially tied to having to grow weed for their lively hood will be out of it. I had a guy come in today and put down some money on his account and even him being with such large group of people is saying they are making WAY more money doing legit stuff then with growing. If those guys are talking like that you know its coming to an end. As for the black market sure it'll be there but I'm betting 1/2 of those who are buying now from dealers will just buy from store fronts.
