There were only the two of them in the car. No children.....
According to ABC and KTLA, the 11 yr old son was in it, too!
It's doubtful they would put that on two separate independent TV News reports, but stranger things have happened. jpt

Hmmm.....not mentioned in any of the articles I've read. Are you saying that Roger Rodas' son was in the car?
If that's the case, they should not have put him at risk. Odd though, as my friend was working on the crew for the film, and knew both victims well. I spoke to him last night, and he didn't mention that any children were involved, only that Paul was a really sweet guy who had a 15 year old daughter. According to the latest news, the car had problems which is why they were testing it out. However, the problems were with stalling out, which wouldn't have had anything to do with the accident. They are saying the power steering blew out, and he didn't even brake before hitting the tree. This sounds odd also, as a race car driver could handle a car without power steering, one would think. But they found no skid marks, and power steering fluid in the street. No mention of children in any of the news reports I have read. I can find out from my friend, though.Just read this:
"Speed was a factor in the crash, the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Office said. A 45 mph speed limit sign was attached to the light pole knocked down by the Porsche.

The car, which sold for $450,000 when new, is a notoriously difficult vehicle to handle, even for professional drivers, according to Autoweek magazine. A top driver called it "scary," the magazine reported Sunday. It is powered by a V-10, 610-hp engine."

thank You retrogrow..the tree is about 5inches in diameter..looks like it sheared right thru the car. Hard to believe the tree is still standing. So sad, no matter how many perished.

I can't find anything on a kid either, but the news did report that last night. IDK, for sure. I didn't think those even had room for a 3rd person. Maybe the parent is unavailable, any info on the kid has been sketchy, at best. A minor at the least; something fishy about the story, though.

If you 'hear' more, please let us know? jpt

Virtually certain no kids were in the car. It is a racing car, really. Only two seats, I believe, and I don't think he would drive that fast with a child in the car.
So many papparazzi and entertainment "reporters" in L.A., though. One of them reported a rumor.

Thank You Retro; the news isn't saying much this evening except there 'may have been another vehicle involved' and the police are looking for one that was at the scene. fed

Yeah , they've already discounted the drag racing theory. It was a one car accident.

Holy shit!
They are wasting taxpayer dollars investigating this shit?
What the fuck are you people doing spending time on this fucking shit?
Can anyone think of anything more important than a wannabe racer dying in a crash?
How can anyone let any of their time be spent on shit like that?
My dog just died and if I had every wasted a single second of the time he was here on anything like this I would be ashamed of myself for not spending my time more wisely.
Fuck you babylon!
Try and distract us with your bullshit!
Fuck you!

yo
he be gone in a flash, life over in a crash
the Man takes us whenever we have a stash of love to leave behind

shed your tears then stop your cryin', one life is over but another just be flyin'
pain so heavy, girl wish she be dyin'

time to heal and feel the loss, o the loss I be lyin'
If in once upon a time the Man took my father when he be flyin'

close to home the pain I know and Lady Jane she wails sweet misery
I wipe away the tear and rejoice in all that's dear to me, I raise my joint and I be flyin'

the Blackman

RIP
all the souls lost that day around the globe

Wow!
You obviusly have no clue about the guy...
Wannabe racer huh? Maybe u should do some research...

RIP to Both souls who passed in that wreck.
Seeing multiple videos and the scene. IMO I would say they were traveling way too fast for the turn and hit the curb knocking em both unconcious and causing the tank to explode igniting them into a huge fireball.. There is barely any skid marks leading lots to believe he was trying to power out of the start of the skid and made contact with the curb..
