hey peeps!

just wondering how much (salted/unsalted?) butter i'll need to make some cannabutter out of two plants.

the first is that Swazi.. she's quite big..

the second is a Ducksfoot hermaphrodite..

the plants are both seeded and have been drying for one day. can i cook them up today, or should i wait (until when)?

there is quite a lot of bud.. around 120g dry, maybe.

depending on how potent those plants are you will probably want an ounce or 28 -35 grams per pound of butter which is 4 sticks. I'd say unsalted butter. But I dont know if it makes a difference. Yes you can make butter with wet plant material. I like to use dry. The wet material usually makes for greener/harsher tasting butter. dry the buds this will help.

do a "modified water cure" to wash out the chlorophyl. Basically submerge them in cool water and change the water every few hours until it no longer turns green. The first few washes should take most of the chlorophyl out and since trich;s are not water soluable (or bubble bags wouldnt work) as long as you dont shake the bud you wont lose any potency. After that let them airdry and they will dry in a few hours. They actually dry faster after you wet them.

1-3 hours. make sure you simmer not cook the butter. Simmer means on like 3 or so on the stove top burner. When the house stinks and the mixture looks glossy and not watery its done.

i will simmer the stuff for about an hour and a half then. will use level 1/2 (mine goes up to 6.. lol).

one last question, lid on or lid off?

lid off. We want to simmer at a 1 or 2 just high enough to make the butter bubble. Little bubbles. Not a full boil.
