Any1 Try Critical Skunk?
I was wondering if anyone had the chance to try Critical Skunk. I am thinking of placing an order for either them or Critical Mass. I only ask because the Critical Skunk is almost half the price, and i would think Shanti would not have added it to the menu if it were able to go toe to toe with the Critical Mass. Any1 got some experience?

I grew critical skunk from mr.nice. last year outdoors and it was the best of ten or so varieties I tried.

I couldn't find any grow reports so I went in blind. It smelled like a real skunk while growing (like the critter) as it matured it took on a fruity note. Still stunk up the yard pretty bad. It had awesome strength and flavor was amazing. I topped mine and I don't think it liked it. It made a nice big bush about 3' tall and around. Bud development was the weak Point. It made tiny little popcorn nugs. i only had one girl so i cant really make a big assessment but overall it was greart So I will be growing this again it was the standout strain last year. I highly recommend it

I have a pack going this year.. 15 planted, 7 females. They dont like getting topped imo either. They branch nice on their own, loud stem rubs across the board. Ill throw up some pics.

Just finished a run with CS and had hermie issues. Out of 30 seeds, ended up with 14 females which were grown into mothers. 6 of these moms produced hermie clones that showed up in week 5 of flowering. Did not catch in time to prevent pollination.
As a last resort, foliar fed with DM Reverse. Was doubtful this would work and pleasantly surprised when proven wrong. Stopped seed production and buds went back to shooting out new pistils and positive growth. They ended up taking a total of 10/11 weeks to finish and am pretty sure this was due to stress. Out of the remaining 8 phenotypes, all had fruity smells and was impressed with their resin content as well. 2 of these turned purple and were not the heaviest of yielders. Their bag appeal however, was off the charts. These were the first to finish. The rest were much heavier yielders along with being a bit leafier as well. All in all, I'd say give it a try as long as you don't f up like I did by not being attentive toward hermification/pollination. |

I will be running critical skunk next spring once again. Hopefully I can get a better look at this gene pool. My favorite thing about this plant is how the smoke made the room smell after it was burned. Rare to find a plant that smells good in the jar then tastes good and leaves the room smelling better as well? It's a win.
Note to self... don't top these girls |
