I have 244 5w leds in veg color spectrum only. Covers a 4x4 area at a ride height of 2-2 1/2 ft. Any lower, and leaf tips twist.

None of my plants have laid over horizontal and died yet, so I think it works. Electrical savings will eventually pay for the light.

Have a nice day. bg

Bad gas, do you have 244w only red and blue ? Do you tested them also in flowering ?

No, If you looked at the Black Dog 750u, my color spectrum would be the same. I got the same veg color spectrum as that one. However, on mine, I have no flower color leds.

I also have no veg-flower switch. My on-off switch turns on all 244 leds.

I optomized [sp?] this light for veg only. If it works well, I'll have them build me a flower-only light.

Gotta go to work. I'll check in later. bg

you have to be joking right . the new hydro star kicks the sh** right out of my 1000 HPS hands down !

I have twin 1200w

now before I get into this . I did not buy the 1600w or the 1800w for a good reason .. at $768 vs the twin 1200's, the 1200's win hands down ..at best offer I got them at $580, why because you have two points of light not one ...total 2400w at 1048 w used ...the other reason is my grow environment was based on 1000 w fundamentals , to stay close to this range I don't have to rework everything in my grow ...or rewire ...or add more heat then I want ...not to say I might need heat in the cold weather .but the HPS may become a heat source...

I tested the light to night , it was so bright I could not see my girlfriend standing 6 ft away from me and she could not see the laptop right in front of her , these are out right bad ass lights and I will not use my 1000 HPS unless its a back up lighting system ..or I need a heat source ...if your smart don't fire one of these 1200 off in the kitchen ,its like way over powering ...she is still pist at me ... if her hair had bleached like some of those plants I see on the web I would be dead by now ..LOL.
LOL
these rock and roll and they are here to stay ...
I was going to put my 600w MH and the 1000 HPS in with the two LED but it would be nothing but heat I don't want in there ... that makes the HPS obsolete ,

I think the times are changing . LED and t5 are the way to go ...
and if your not stand in the hydro star line ,you should be

the twin 1200w at $580 I can afford to replace them in a few years with out worrying about my investment ...

tell me your going to spend $200-$300 or more on a HPS . if you do your a fool ...

I hung the LED up and the 1000 HPS side by side .I could not even see the 1000 HPS light in all the glow from the hydro star , it is putting out 2 -3 times more light then the HPS ...not even close ...I can not wait to run a cycle . I know what is going to happen just by what I see ....

OK lets do the math ...

no venting heat ...
a more stable grow room environment
self cooling
build in ballast
half the elect. cost

it may take a few runs to find the best strains for these LED but the effort will come back in yield and quality...

if you got a 600 or 700 LED a few years ago and it did not have as good a level as these 1200 its time to check out the 1200's ...I am impressed and that just don't happen to God Danm often with man made sh** ....if I hang them up side by side again I will try to get a few pics ..

so try them . work out the details so your strains and environment matches up with them and learn as you go .. if you got a few grows under your belt . give them a try .. I am loving what I see and remember this take two people to put in place ,don't try it by your self ..

stay safe stay free
