Green Path Seeds Info
Hi guys, Thought I would pass along some info from time to time, and if anyone has questions. for now I will re-post some info previous written: I wanted to stop in and say hello. I'm not new to IC, and I'm sure you might have seen me around before, but I decided the new name is in line with the changes.. First I'll say how I got started off in growing. I was sitting in my dad's basement one day, bored and not knowing what to do. A voice popped into my head to go to the bookstore and find a book on growing. I was kinda shocked, as at the time I didn't even know such books existed. I went over to the bookstore, and found it after looking in the plant section, that book, Mel Thomas' Cannabis Cultivation started it all... I fell in love with growing instantly, and it was more than about the end result for me. I loved popping seeds and seeing them sprout up, watering them, taking care of them, just watching them grow. It was amazing to me how I felt more at peace watching them, then say driving a sport bike fast, or such ( I was a lover of all things fast, in a chapter of my life ). Growing changed the way I looked at everything, after that.. Seeds were a big thing to me, as I had no connection to clones at the time, and I was always moving, so seeds were vital to being able to grow for me. I have since had access to clones, and to be honest, nothing ever went right when I did ( pests / diseases / enjoyment ), so I stayed with seeds. I also am a lover of small trinkets and such, so it seemed to fit perfect. I love the potential that can come from such a small thing. I created Green Path Seeds for a couple of reasons: -To spread what I love most, seeds. I feel it all starts with a seed, and the journey that comes with that, is what makes nature / life so great. The cycle of the plant, of birth to death is one so natural, but we have become so disconnected with "natural ways of things" , it fit to stick with seed production. -I saw a big gap in people not growing particular strains, based on pricing. I myself, a purchaser of seeds, know how $100+ strains can be a dream / out of reach / a burden on the financial side..myself, not one ever motivated by money, felt it natural to make seeds a better price, so whoever wants to sample a strain, can be able to do so. -The natural progression. I sometimes had over 100 plants, and sometimes only had a couple in flowering. I was playing around with different strains, just growing them, keeping some males, basically just loved growing them. I hit a decision that I needed to find an outlet to keep the plants going, and to continue to justify keeping that many plants, so I went though all the possibilities.. seeds seemed to check all the boxes, and it's felt right ever since. -Spreading what I love. I have had many "epiphanies" being around the plant, and one of the goals was to extend that to people who find these seeds. If I can reach one person who, walks away with a different view / becomes open to things they normally don't / walks away a better person / feels more at peace / feels more relaxed / has a positive experience and/or last but not least, a connection is sparked between human and nature...... then it's all worth it to me. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- a few words on the strains right now: -I love the interest in the seeds. I am sorry it was limited to 4 packs each.. Thank you to all who were willing to test the seeds, and good luck to all who get selected. F-13 'f-2' . I have grown these out in veg, and found them to be "DJ plants" .. This batch had a great mix of females ranging from BB leaning to flo leaning.. I have also noticed though some things.. -seed germs. there is sometimes a fewer then 100% strike rate, and this I believe has to do with the mutation in DJ's gene's. I feel it came from a daddy in the group, which had a recessive trait of mutation. I am including a few more seeds into the "retail packs" to make up for this. you can sometimes manually pop the seeds open if you dig them out, but I found more often then not for them to be excessively mutated. -mutants. some grow out of it later, some are triggered by heavy feedings, some are vigorous, and some not so much. please do what you want with them, that is up to you, and you will see I have provided plenty seed to not worry. also keep in mind some DJ lines you will find more mutants then others.. Purple Ryder 'f-2' I have direct experience with these, as I wanted to test the autoflowering trait. you should find half the group grows taller, half will grow shorter. you should find half will turn purple, evident early own, and half will stay green. some of the plants exhibit a leaf "arching" in early veg, but should grow out of it. I never saw this ever in any of lowryder's strain's, nor the Purple Ryder. Some Misc. things: Both these were made with open pollination being key. I'm not one to say this plant is better then that plant. I want to try and serve a sample of these strains. I don't keep clones. So no plant set will ever be identical. I find variety the path of nature, so I intend to follow 'her' advice, and not offer a "normal seed" with set mothers or fathers. seed packs are of 16, unless stated. I do have some plans to do female seed ( i am not fond of, but if the strain only exists in that form... ) then they might be a lower seed count. The F-13 will ship with 18 for this round. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- On the seed packet: -I tried to source a "green" way to pack seeds. I am not one for throwing things in the trash, and polluting our planet, so for now, I found a packet of 100% recycled paper, and is recyclable. I tried to keep the ink to a minimum, and it is printed with soy ink. They tell me the company is 100% wind powered, and they do carbon neutral shipping ( reforestation projects ).. I know there is many other methods available, and have looked into them, so hopefully these packets will keeps the seeds viable, and cut pollution / trash down to a minimum.. please feel free to recycle the packet! ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 10/03/13 Right now some of the strains being worked on are: cocoa kush / vanilluna / blueberry / grinspoon / blue velvet ( DP fem stock ) / lowryder 2 / grape krush I am switching over to organic to satisfy all customers. I am running organics in coco, and it's seeming to work well so far, the above strains are being done organic, minus the already done purple ryder and F-13. Also all plants are hand watered, I'm not sure if it will have to change in the future, but I think the connection is fully there when I water them everyday by hand. Also to state again. I work alone, so it's just me running the show. things progress as I do. I am planning some works further into these lines, mostly the CK, as I feel it has the most blueberry sativa influence speaking structurally, and Ck is one of my favorites from DJ. who knows what I will find, but I hope you enjoy the seed from these lines, as they are very good, being DJ's latest releases. I will admit, I am learning so many things setting up what I call, "the pollen projects". I am leaning more toward making selections from bigger pools ( 2-3 packs ) and possibly leaving half the seeded females out of the pick. I have noticed veg cycles are so different then flowering cycles, you cannot fully know what to expect in flower.. I am also leaning to take choice females and clone them for future rounds, but the thing is I want you guys to get a sample of these strains, not a further worked version. Who knows, but I know I need to dig deeper then I first thought. So right now it's back to the CK. I have not made choices yet what is next to grow, but soon I should have an answer, as my wife's Birthday is coming up, so a trip is in order.. TESTERS: -Homero is posting pics and info here.. -Mike has some test grows here -Snype is starting some F-13 action here -im me test -alien dawg test -oaky is testing the BV here -Icon ( no tester, a paying customer's experiences ) here -scrappy doo with the whitaker blues and azure haze here -canna with some CK / AH here

Next set of plants has been dropped. true blueberry / another blueberry / super silver haze / C-99 / still have the grape krush looks like the grinspoon is a no go. the plant would not reverse, only throwing out a couple pollen sacs.. shame as one plant is seeming to have the grinspoon look, well more so out of the batch... I believe the mom plants used, doesn't have the trait locked in for the look, it's more of a recessive trait, which I think they should have done more testing, or giving us a S2-S3 version, as I have heard similar stories.. I am excited about the blueberry. I honestly did not care for it much, growing the other plants, but it is a nice plant, the smell is far more fruity then the other DJ plants. the bud growth at the node is very nice, like a little nugget. remember people, these are low yielding plants, topping and heavy veg time is required to get weight ( if that's your thing ). I am wanting to sift through my other pack, as I have some thoughts of it from this grow in my head. it's funny seeing DJ's past work ( blue velvet ) next to his current ( VL/ CK ). How the lines evolved.. well all I can say is weight was lost as he worked forward. I guess we can't have everything.. hope you guys enjoy. Let me know any thoughts. GPS

LR2 came down a couple days ago. Got one plant cleaned, so next is drying and germ testing. I hope you guys like these. My favorite auto, as it's just a happy high.. Would expect you to find some very great examples of blueberry sativa in the VL and CK line. There is one in the VL line that is very very BBS leaning, but as anyone would know, it's not a high yielder, so there will be fewer seeds from that plant. One grinspoon is getting hit with the BV pollen, I'll update sometime when I test them out. I kept the best female from the grinspoon to mate, as there was some funky other plants. The one I kept is sturdy, smaller internodes, and higher calyx production. The seed for purple ryder and F-13 will be released with the LR2 once I germ test them. C-99 no more. wouldn't pop. I had them from a couple moves, so maybe something happened along the way. well we'll see what else fills the spot. Thanks to everyone. My main goal was to spread seed as far and wide as possible, so I feel I am on aim to do just that. I cannot say I'm a breeder, call me whatever you want. I am just here for the seed, and it's been fun so far being able to be around them everyday. I also get to see another side that most don't ( seed production ) which is not as fun, as the plants don't get as big, but it's a important process to keep the plant going ( minus clones.. ) so I hope anyone who buys a pack likes what they get. I try to put in my all to these seeds, and I am just starting out, and have much to learn, as I learn something new everyday, but I love the plant, you can be assured that. TESTERS GOING ON: F-13: -im me test -alien dawg test -snype test -ft 100 test PURPLE RYDER: -clearcutter test -kcar test - GPS

Got done testing the auto trait on the LR2. 100%, and enough seed to go around for all who want it. Just need germ batch testing before releasing ( I test each plant to make sure of viability ), the test was done with the early seeds on the plant.. There has been lower then normal strike rates for my F-13 testers, so I thought I would document a germ test, as I have germ tested these about 5 times to make sure they were fine, so I am documenting for anyone to see the strike rates achieved by me. some hints I can give to better germ rates: -warm temps -constant moisture ( not to little, not to much ) -"sterile" media, as in not reused, as pests might kill the seeds -no fancy tricks ( straight planting is the best way I feel, as less damage / stress the plants ) so I planted 5x pots with 9 seeds each, and I would like to say they were at random, what feel into my hand got planted.. Right now they were starting to pop overnight, and today we have at this moment 38 seedlings out of a possible 45. I can't say when I planted them as I don't keep dates, but maybe the 5th day? or 4th? I have seen some take as long as 2 weeks to emerge, so I feel were on a good track so far. I will be updating some pic when I have more seedlings to document. the Gk has gone into flower, so be on the lookout sometime for them. I know a lot of people only have good things to say about GK, and there is a healthy mix of females in the group. UPDATE 10/19/13: F-13 seed test. 43 / 45. looks like one extra seed got planted so 44/46... I'm going to stop the test here, as I think these are excellent results, and finally documented. fine germs with some mutants, and a extremely mutated plant that needs to be culled.. proper germ setup can go a long way to getting good germ rates, as shown here, nothing fancy at all, room temps to germ in even... Hey greenpath nice work would love to buy/test any of Dj's line and your f2 generations of them or even s1 versions anyone of them that produce blueberry offsprings would love to buy/test. Especially waiting on what you find and do with the blueberry beans as straight blueberry is my favorite. Also when will these be available for sale? I know u just send out testers recently but whenever you have beans for sale would love to grab a pack of everything Dj you make or if you need another test I would be down for that also. Peace mike

Hey Mike,
sent you a PM.. yes, I am interested in S1, but have to do deep consideration on the subject, as I want to respect DJ in what he does, but I do believe there are just better phenos when you have many to pick from. I am going down the CK rabbit hole soon, and using some of the best females seeds, I will see what I find. F-13 is done, and will be released soon. BB is behind the CK / VL lines, with blue velvet in last. I would expect 1 1/2 months before you see the CK / VL line. And GK just got started so that's going to be a while.... Thanks for your interest!!! GPS

I can truly understand you want to preserve a masters work and keep the line straight. That is awesome plus female seeds might increase the rate of herms to pop up from the slightest stress. Peace mike

-TBB, all that popped were mutated, and the rest had twisted roots off the seedlings.. there toast.. -the SSH never popped, they were the same seed stock timeline as the C-99.. -the BB is in full swing though, so there will be more in months. GPS
