No pollen after colloidal silver application.
I've been making colloidal silver, and spraying it on some females in hopes of getting some pollen. I've got a small cabinet with a red spectrum t5, on 12/12. I spray small plants with it daily, and get male flowers after a few weeks. But they never drop pollen. The male flowers just turn brown and some of them eventually fall out. I've done this to 3 plants so far (sour diesel, animal cookies and lemon skunk). Any ideas what I'm doing wrong? It's not hot in the cabinet. The plants are in soil, about 1'-1.5' tall and otherwise seem healthy.

hmmm
what is you CS ppm? from what i know should be about 300... but i'm sure that if you have male flowers on your female clones you doing everything correctly, it's plants disability. some plants are just unable to produce pollen even when they get fully reversed, at mine aprox 20% of cuttings sprayed with sts gives a nice loads of pollen, maybe 10% more will give some amount of pollen and other 70% is usually sterile. hope that helps peace PS. is lemon skunk that you run is las vegas lemon skunk? dna and greenhouse selling S1's of las vegas cut so if this is the same one then should give at least a bit of pollen. |

for me personally its only happened with lapis mnt indica & lvpk from what i remember, ive used distilled, rain & even bottled water in experaments with no problems except those 2 strains i usually make a CS brew using a 9v battery in about 6oz water for about 12-15hrs i go by color that the water turns, ive made tons of s1's with many varieties but its only ever been those 2 strains so far & those are the 2 i want to make s1's the most so its frustrating, ive also tried a lighter & darker cs brew, these are flowered under an hps... still nothing it must be the strain i guess? ill be trying again with the lapis in a few months maybe more time inbetween spraying will cause less stress or something.
cali med hope you get it figured out |

Thanks everyone. I loaned out my ppm meter, I'll have to get it back and check but yeah, I'm getting tons of male flowers. I made the cs with a 9v battery, .999 silver, distilled water, and let it run 24 hours. I guess I'll keep trying. The first animal cookies that I did gave me a tiny amount of pollen. The sour diesel, nothing although every flower site is covered with males, and the lemon skunk I should admit I didn't water enough, so I'll try that one again. I don't know much about the genetics of the LS, just picked up a cut from a dispensary. It's nice, dense very lemony in a stout and compact plant.

What I have understood is that 2 x spraying per day (morning, evening) gives more fertile pollen than one spraying per day... Never tried it though.

There are some strains that flat out refuse to make viable pollen, no matter what the frequency of application or concentration of CS that's used.

We've been led to believe that lots of variation in a cross is a good thing, because some vendors would rather you buy several packs of their gear, instead of them actually doing the selections to fix that nag champa or golden clit trait themselves. For hobby growers, pheno hunting is fun. But mono-croppers who grow to pay the bills prefer a consistent product that regularly delivers the desired trait package. |

My A11 has produced nothing but sterile pollen every single time it has been reversed. Quite frustrating to say the least.
