Phantom Cookie's Autoflowering on me!!! - Granddaddy Purp Genetics - International Cannagraphic Magazine Forums

Just like the title says, I had two phantom cookies that the mothers I made started to flower under 18/6. Just so were all on the same page. I have been growing for awhile. I can clone flowering plants and have them revert to veg. I have over 30 mothers and the two seed plants of phantom cookies both started to autoflower on me. They are the only two doing this . My #2 mother did it after only a couple months, even her clones started to flower in veg. Now my #1 pc is starting to autoflower. The #2 I can kinda understand, cause it was in a .78L container for too long. The #1 though is tripping me out. It's in a 7 gal. grow bag, and there is no way it's rootbound. It still clones ok, and I get roots in a week or less. It's just the rooted clones don't grow much, and it makes it kind of useless to put them my table with other strains that grow normally and block light from them. They finish just fine, I actually just picked a dozen or so last night. The buds look super good and are frosty, the smell is divine, unlike any other strain I have. So what's the deal? Anybody have similar experiences. I'm not bitching cause I want a handout, I just wanna know what's going on, and if I can control it. I have already got rid of the #2 mother, but the #1 is still going strong. If I can grab some pics tonight I will.

Try switching to 20/4. You'll get better veg growth and it may also help with them flowering early.

Currently growing out a whole 10 pack of phantom cookies and didn't have this problem. However I don't yet have any mothers, will reveg the best looking/tasting plants after smoke tests.

I have that exact same problem with my Phantom Cookies mother running 18/6. Every time she starts to get some size on her she starts Auto flowering, I just cut her back a decent amount and she goes right back into veg with no problems. I am flowering my 3rd cycle of clones off her right now.

I HAVE PHANTOMS 24/0 VEG AND THEY LOOK GREAT...WHAT LIGHT ARE YOU USING FOR VEG...I USE THE 6400K SPECTRUM IN CFL AND T-5 FOR MINE....DJ

6400k t8's, a huge homemade 20 bulb 4ft. fixture. I believe in giving my mothers a dark period. I'm gonna try and make a new mother and see what happens.

Sorry havent been on in a few...
This is the first I'm hearing about this with the PC
I have heard that the GDP (from seed) can do it, and we may have determined it's really photoperiod sensitive, wanting it's dark cycle. Maybe there's an issue with the male used in the GDP which is used in most of our crosses. But that would have me thinking we'd be seeing/hearing about this a lot more. I wish I had more info or advice, but the above ^^^ people seemed to have said what I would suggest.
Try those things out and report back to us... oh and NO SEEDS FOR YOU!!! JK (seinfeld impression)

MY PHANTOMS ARE PERFECT SO FAR(KNOCK ON WOOD)...I TOPPED EM TWICE...ON 24/0 THOUGH....BEAUTY LIL BUSHES...GONNA BE LOTS OF BUD SITES...I HAVE HAD PRE FLOWERS BUT NO SINGLE LEAF OFFERINGS...DJ

I have never ran 18/6 light cycle until this last time and had the same problems with my phantoms. Switched back to 24/0 everything switched around. My friend i gifted a clone said the same thing. Good luck
