Tester Pack of 18 seed...

Quote:
F-13 'f-2' .

I have grown these out in veg, and found them to be "DJ plants" .. This batch had a great mix of females ranging from BB leaning to flo leaning.. I have also noticed though some things..

-seed germs. there is sometimes a fewer then 100% strike rate, and this I believe has to do with the mutation in DJ's gene's. I feel it came from a daddy in the group, which had a recessive trait of mutation. I am including a few more seeds into the "retail packs" to make up for this. you can sometimes manually pop the seeds open if you dig them out, but I found more often then not for them to be excessively mutated.

-mutants. some grow out of it later, some are triggered by heavy feedings, some are vigorous, and some not so much. please do what you want with them, that is up to you, and you will see I have provided plenty seed to not worry. also keep in mind some DJ lines you will find more mutants then others..

By Green Path...
How could I resist asking to test these genetics...

Thank you Green path for all your hard work and heart put into these beans and thank you both GP and Clarence/Seedbay for allowing me this opportunity...

You all rock ....

Perhaps one of the most useful devices used in a quality cannabis breeding project is that of catalogue techniques. This refers to the method used to categorize various traits for future reference, or how to best label traits from a given population. It is also a means to track who came from where (generational references).

First and foremost, I cannot begin to describe the level of complexity involved with a breeding project that extends from the f-2 to the f-5 range. It took me over a decade and a half of trial and much error to fully comprehend and develop a system that actually works to this level and beyond. It starts out simple enough, until the f-2's, then the complexity expands exponentially with each generation.

The P-1's are simple enough, they are the original breed-stock and labeled for what they are, i.e. Highland, Purple or Chocolate Thai, Oaxacan or Santa Marta Gold, Pure Afghan, etc. The f-1's were equally simple as they were of uniform expressions and I simply chose to label them “The Cross”. The f-2 generation was equally easy to identify with the label “Double Cross”, or the progeny of the f-1 cross. However, when the f-2's were grown out, extreme diversity ruled the making of the f-3's (or the descriptions of the f-2's selected to breed further with) a tougher call to make.

It is at this level (and beyond) that some form of labeling system becomes necessary to catalogue all of the different variations found. Beginning with the plants grown out from the f-2 seeds I chose to utilize an alphabetized system with each letter corresponding to a specific trait. For example, the letter “B” came to signify the “Berry” characteristic, “F” stands for “Fruity” (sometimes “Floral“), “G” is for Grape, “C” for Citrus, “O” for orange, “L” for lemon or lime, “K” equaled “Kush”, “S” for “Sativa” “P” for Purple, “X” for extreme glandular trichome production, etc.

I must confess that it took much trial and error to finally get it right. Therefore, if one were to look at my early notes many exceptions to what developed as “the rule” can be found. I left these early “mistakes” as they were so as not to over-complicate what came next. It is also very important to note that most of these observations were relatively subjective and that no more than two traits, or characteristics were ever assigned to any one plant. Therefore, the label “BK” came to stand for “Berry Kush”, or a Kush dominant plant with outstanding berry attributes. It is also important to note that only the most outstanding plant of any given attribute was selected for future work. So the plant that ended up with the “BK” label was the most Berry-Kush of the lot.

So, my f-3 stock became labeled with a two-letter code indicating what the most outstanding characteristics of it’s parent (primarily mother) were, and only those with the strongest expressions earned their label. When the f-3's were grown out and crossed to make the f-4 generation, these labels were coupled to indicate the parents of the f-4 progeny, i.e. BK/FS would be a cross between an f-3 Berry-Kush mother (I always list the female first, male second with a back-slash in between) and an f-3 Fruity Sativa father.

F-4's and Beyond....
Love this guy...

“F-13"–a Holy Grail plant of four-star excellence. Previously unreleased, a very desirable product and potential breeder. A more-sativa hybrid of medium height with long, spear-shaped, dense and resinous buds and an earlier finish time than most sativa. The superfluous quality of the finished product is remarkable: a clear, clean, crisp head of the kindest order with a sweet/floral flavor. This girl really rings the bell every time! Not for the couch-lock crowd, this heady sativa is for those who truly enjoy its stimulating yet comfortable appeal. A real day (or night) brightener. My personal favorite from this batch. 50-65 days flowering time.

Thumbs up

I have 16 spots to fill with little ones...
18 try's to fill em...

I have decided that if these seeds go well and can give me 8 - 10 good trys at gold.

I will postpone some other projects planed and fill 2 Kiddie Pool PPKs with these little devils....

I took a Smart pot and made wicks from it.

Pulled the wicks to just under half way into the grow pots and filled the pots with a mix of Turface/coco/perlite...

I will wash the pots really good tonight and place the seeds from the 24 hour soak into these.

The pots will sit on a seed dome set up.
Using the seed tray as a table.

I will fill the catch tray to 3/4 full of plan water till the plants are ready for jack feed...

Babies on their way... Nice....

How did those originals turn out Flavor, high wise ?

O-Kush johnny's a blazen f2s again.... Nice.....

Glad ta see a little cali up in here... Solid....

I likes me a good sativa myself...
Many different effects and flavors going on with the sativa side of the road...

Though I still like a hardcore Indica to knock me down from time to time...

Having both on hand allows for some freaky mixes ta boot... Golden...

Thanks for looking in,bro...

Hi AD,

Liking the show already.

I am actually popping these, and running them 12 /12 as I had some extra space in a tent.. I got 100% germ rate from 20 seeds. When I was testing them, it was sometimes 8 out of 10 or 9 out of 10.. so I was excited to see good germs on mine, I am curious to see your germ rates, and mutant ratio..

F-13 is DJ's most "sativa" line he has, unfortunately he lost the male to the matings of the F-13 / TB / GK, so I suspect F-13 stock is getting low, and will be lost as some of his stains have been.. but with that comes something new.. it's why I want to get the cocoa kush and vanilluna out, as they really are special, being spawned from the blueberry sativa line..

I would talk on flavor, but I think it's best left to the end user to define.. Let's just say I'm horrible at describing flavor..

Thanks again. I am sure you will find some good plants, please toss the males if it's not your thing, but respect to DJ, and how he does his plants, these seeds will always stay male / female..

deer I spot.. deer is very close to me, so that is awesome!

some words on F-13 from DJ:

"Yes, the father used for the OTM (and the TB, F-13, Johnny Blaze, Flodica, and a number of the Joint Projects) has passed. I am not sure what happened as that was entirely out of my hands. The father to the current BB, flo, Vanilluna and Cocoa Kush (all from the same male) is doing fine."

"Also, there are still available F-13 and True Blueberry from the original breeding batch. There is a limited number due to the fact that the more sativa leaning male is no longer. I recently learned that the mother to F-13 is also no longer alive, bummer. ."

"The F-13 will do fine outdoors. Because of it's early flowering time, for a mostly sativa expression, she will finish up mid to late September. As far as the difference between Flo anf the F-13, I would have to say that the F-13 would be slightly more racier(sic) with potentialy more yield."

"The F-13 is the pinnacle of the Flo expression for lovers of the "heady buzz". This lady stays with you hours after smoking. Like DJ has stated-it is a true "bell ringer". Although she may not be of the heaviest yields, she more than makes up for it in her flowering time-8-9 weeks(for a mostly sativa). When the hash was made from her in the testing phase, there was some serious debate as to how it was to be divided"

Sup Green... Nice to see you and thanks for the quote...
Dj talks a language I can understand...

I get nothing but good vibes from these beans and there are 7 coming up to play already....

No helmet head and looking good so far....

Thanks for the opportunity...

Im looking for a keeper male for future seasons and am thinking of just going for smoke runs this year...

Never a 100% sure where I will end up,this early on....

I have a whole pool ready when they are and I am not training (beyond pinching) and not top cutting the 1st run...
I wants to see these mamas...

Im doing 2 runs with these and the 2nd run will most likely be topped a whole lot and kept semi short...

Going to be a great time getting into these....

well, I've had 14 show up for the game and 5 decided to change their minds....Leaving me with 9 good looking ladies so far.

Are these the mutants you speak of GP ?
They pop up then fall over and shrivel up ....

All 5 lost have done the same thing...
Pop up and never open any leaves then fall over...
after a day or so they shrivel away...

Was hard to even see 2 of them.. Really tiny....

These were the ones that I place 2 in one pot...
Almost like they touched the bigger one in the pot and gave up....

Im thinking it have have been the heat from the being in the tent.
79-83,nothing to extreme...

I placed them in the veg closet night before last and now that I have
a few days off I will place them outside during the day.

This leaves me with 9 healthy and 4 unseen...
Perhaps the 4 are a little deep..
Pots 1 & 2 had 2 seeds each with one each making it.
Pots 3-14-16 popped and fell...
Really thought 3 was going to make it...
The others were 1/2 its size...

I don't think over or under watered and no feed added so that
leaves heat as the issue....IMO..

Not sure if its possible but the ones that soaked in the cup 1-9 seem to be doing much better than the plated ones...
