So whats your organic medium? Help a coco grower switch to organic!
Guys This year instead of going outdoor coco. im keen to give organic a go.
I have a 200L grow bag and I plan to use a feminised early skunk by sensi. Now guys Whats a great basic medium rundown? And feeding wise I usually fill up a 100Litre water container with a hose attachment and mix up my nutrient in there. I think id like to use seasol powerfeed for this one. and thats it... and some potash when flowering comes. And how would I check PH in the soil? or do I just check the PH in my seasol solution before I water?. Keep its simple for me guys! Id like a pound for this one. Coco is too difficult im sick of making and diluting nutrients all the time and measuring PH. Its tooo time consuming. I just want to water and sit back!! ![]() PEACE! |

Vital Earths Pure Organic Potting Soil. I have cloned directly into it and also start seeds in it. Good stuff. Check their website and see if is sold in your area. CC (knowlegable member) turned me on to it and it is made in the NW coast area.

Roots 707 and Happy Frog 1:1 is my recipe as of late. I clone and start beans in it as well. I use International House of Guanos. 2 guanos for veg, 2 for flower. Easy peasy. Mix my teas per life stages. Nothing simpler i have yet to come across. I had been a hydro farmer for some years. No checking TDS, PPM, ph 2 times a day, no emptying and cleaning a bunch of buckets twice a month, cleaning hydrocorals blows. No more buying $100 in water to fill the buckets up with just to start. (Was in a non-friendly state, with the worst water imaginable, no choice but to buy). I now just re use my soil in my outside vegetable garden.
In my opinion, organics, have a much more pronounced flavor and aroma. Alot less time consuming. But that could very well be strain/farmer dependent too. I dont touch water ph at all. I check run off, but ive hadnt a need to adjust. (*I think i heard soil self buffers, lime and something else content etc.? Chime in?) I use RO for my teas. The grow store down the street sells RO gallons for .25 till i get my own filter setup. I would say, i have yet to find a more resourceful, knowledgeable group of folks, other than here on IC. Alot of obvious master farmers here. The info you need, will just need to be scoured. Good luck. And let us know what you've finally decided. Be well. ToT

So I just noticed you are writing in the Oz/NZ forum. I don't know what you have for Hydroponics supply shops there or if you need to order from the internet. Anyway check for the following ingredients in the 1 CU feet (28.3 L) bags:
Spagnum Peat Moss Earthworm bedding or earthworm castings Some sort of mulch Pumice and glacial rock powder Powdered Dolomite When I recycle and reuse my soiless mix I use Azomite power which is a volcanic clay mined in Utah. This gives me the Micronutrients since there were no glaciers in this area. When I recycle soilless mix it is almost like cooking as I add a handfull of various ammendments that I feel it needs. Anyway when you buy a mix I would suggest just growing one seed to see how it does for you. |

i use 50/50 coco coir/organic soil and amend with this: https://www.batphone.com.au/products/...link-10kg.html
this will feed your plants reducing the need for liquid ferts, i would recommend not using powerfeed once your plants start to flower as it does have high N. this stuff is great for plants in both veg & flower: https://www.batphone.com.au/products/...os-1litre.html i never ph my outdoor plants water... good luck
