Danish Durban
Hi Esbe,
I have a couple of Danish Durban on the go at 52N. They're just starting to flower now (I hope). Am a bit disappointed with this flowering time. I'm looking at the end of October now for these? Any more info on the variety, flowering characteristics etc would be appreciated. The sun is getting lower in the sky now - they're just getting about 2.5 hours of direct sun. This will decrease - they were getting 4 hours a month ago. Can plants finish without much sun in your experience? Thanks, G. |

Dude, there isnt much going on in this Forum right now, so im tryin to help you. I have a male Erdpurt on my balkony area that recieved only 3h sunlight in the best state.
Allthough it growed into a wonderfull small plant even without much sun. If you are lucky, your Durban could do that too. Just wait a little bit and see what happens. And please dont give it anymore fertilizers. If the plants runs out of nutrients, it will flower a little bit faster than a plant that can use a hole bunch it. |

I grew some Danish Durban two seasons ago at a very similar latitude, they finished in late September. Thick but not many buds.

Thanks Norahm. From the looks of things I'm in my second week flowering and I have very branchy plants. Amazing how the same genes can differ. Will put up pics tomorrow
What was the quality of the high and total yield of yours like? . |

At 52n Gerry, I'm assuming the Southern counties, Cork, Kerry, Waterford . . .
Botrytis will be a real problem in wet weather and even late October looks optimistic, judging from your shots! If they were mine, I'd be sorely tempted to lift them into buckets and put them under MH or HPS to finish them properly . . . |

If you can't move them under a light inside I'd still put them in buckets destroying as little of the root system as possible. Then you can move them inside at night and into a sunnier spot on better days. Otherwise the mold will hit you hard.
