X-18, DC, or?

What is the difference in smoke between the X-18 and DC?
Which is happier outdoors and finishes earlier?
I would like to try the apple pheno of x-18, how frequent is that?

Is PTK available anywhere? (I would actually pick that coz I like pine)
Any other landrace/IBL Inidi's I should be considering?

Cheers.

This is my first year growing Deep Chunk and X18.
Deep Chunk is a small plant. Started it in April by June it just stopped getting bigger, it's gotten denser and bushier but thats it. About 3 or 4 feet tall. Gonna be a small yield only the top nugs are swelling up. Just starting THC crystal formation already smells great.
A couple X18s stayed small like Deep Chunk the other got about 5.5 feet super thick Indica. The small ones were identical to the big one only bonzais. Just starting to crystal up smells sweet and herbal. X18 seems easier to grow. No sign of apple pheno yet.
Both strains should finish at the same time. Late September.
X18 was a little happier outside, still got beat up by weather. One of my Deep Chunks got stem rot from rainy weather be sure to give it excellent light exposure. It's so small it can get swallowed up by other strains. Would be best in containers and on a deck or protected area.
Next year I will start my Deep Chunk in May or June nothing was gained by starting it in April.
The male Deep Chunks were vigorous midgets had a cool dense budlike flower structure I haven't really seen. Got lots of pollen so I'm gonna have lots of fun next year.
Haven't seen PTK anywhere in a while.
For the amount of space and resources these plants take up, it's almost nothing compared to the other plants. And they are not like anything else, really unique and look cool.

Deep Chunk seems to be more potent and should be done maybe a week earlier. X18 will have a much larger yield.

Thanks for the info Revverend, I love the look of the squat broadleafs, quite stealthy too.
Late september would be a perfect finish for me, but I bet you are quite a bit further south than 50n?

My deep chunks were slow growing and low yielding. Effects and flavor were average to good. Color was beautiful. I liked it but not a keeper. I grew bubba kush x deep chunk, great flavor but slow growing, low yielding. So Im currently growing uk cheese x deep chunk(chunky cheese) fast growing so far, yields look good. I have blowfish x dc and straw diesel x dc to future searching. The seeds were cheap so figured why not.

Never grown x18, the x18 I've seen and have not grown, have been fairly leafy. Flavor was hard to describe but not apple at all.

Ptk I keep a mom of, it's more vigorous and some really pungent terp profile. Daytime high for me..... Not available in seed form anymore. But a couple people talking about making some f2's.

You might look at some landrace hybrids from cannabiogen like sandstorm PCK x Moroccan Or hybrids from hell with what I think is a lot of outdoor northern acclimated stuff.

Thanks for the input SkyHigh, bubba kush x deep chunk sounds like some tasty stuff.
I'm gonna go with Lapis Mount Indica after reading DoobieDucks report, its landrace Afghan x DC and the price is nice at the boo.

Also looking into ancient afghan from grindhouse but cant find em for sale anywhere.

I'm at 47 N. Already having mold problems with Deep Chunk, been a wet summer. X18 has that landrace hardiness I suspect it has more mold resistance even if it's done a week later and not quite as potent. Deep Chunk would be best started in May and June in an area in pots where you could move it out of the rain when it's flowering. Both are cool looking if that means anything to you, I like the look.
The main worth of DC I believe will be in crosses. I collected a lot of pollen am crossing it with my large fast growing strains. Thought about getting some of the crosses out there but decided to make my own. I know in my climate they will succeed.
Pakistan Chitral Kush is another strain I'd like to make crosses with. A buddy with a goofy indoor grow got annihilated by scales had nothing to show. Think I might try a couple outside next year.

I think I've gotten lemony-mint and apple-cheese phenos from X18. While I love X18's effect, the apple-cheese tasting phenos just aren't my cup, taste-wise only. And I'm strictly speaking from a vaping perspective.

cheers

Reserva privada have x18, would be cool to breed to a deep chunk auto line I grow (Black Dragon).
The PCK is good btw, but low yeilding, shown good mold resistance through an awful september, I pollinated with some Moroccan pollen.
