putting dry buds in jar

In the first few days of having dry buds in mason jars is it normal to have a strong funky smell come off the buds and jar at first? Or is that a bad ammonia smell? The buds did dry quite quickly, like little under a week but do seem dry enough for the jars.

just make sure you burp the jars everyday for a week or so to let out any excess moisture and you'll be fine

the buds will definately smell alot better in a few weeks to a month. I just finished my second grow and I have the same kind of nasty wet grass smell as I had on my first, but my first grow smells very nice now after about 3 months. As perfect said just keep burping them.

good luck

Did you flush your plants well during the last couple of weeks? If not you will get a strong wet grass smell, amonia like. And your herb will be more harsh if not flushed properly...

I never flushed or cured my last harvest. Went well. Some Niiiice lemon pine-sol smelling RomP19. I didnt flush because it was grown in the ground, and had no ferts or anything. I did not cure because as a result of putting it in the ground and not ferting it there was very little there.(its actually a longer story)

This year I got some (hopefully female) plants that are ferted, in pots and will be flushed.
Maybe we will see if they have a wet grass smell to them. I doubt they will provided they are flushed properly.
