Chemdawg Sour Diesel question

Hello. Names Lurk Daddy. I got 5 females of this strain going right now outside. 3 are tall christmas tree structure and 2 are shorter and bushy. One of the smaller phenos smells like straight Chem. The other smaller bushy pheno has barely any smell at all. The 3 tall phenos all smell like strawberry or some kind of red fruitiness. Smells wonderful but it sure dont smell like any diesel I'm familiar with.

Has anybody else experienced this? I've heard growing in native soil can bring out different smells but I am really surprised how fruity it is. From all the reports Ive read of CD x SD and from my own personal experience with these two strains I was expecting nothin but funk.

Not dissapointed at all, just curious about where the fruitiness comes from. Hopin for some fuel smell/taste though. That would be nice.

If anyone wants to chime in that would be cool.

Take care.

On a lot of the pheno's that i've grown, they can smell more candy like for around the first 4-6 weeks of flower and them the chem and diesel smell kicks in after that. That's been my experience but not strawberries.

word,

OP,
the soil and the natural light spectrums of the sun play a role but, like snype said, they should get funky more towards the mid-end of the cycle.

Hey LurkDaddy, the few CDSDs I've run have been either funky (mostly) or sour. Not to say that you can't find something fruity in these lines. Last year had a cherry smelling Sour D IBL late in flower outside. Sadly didn't notice it until almost the end of flower so I wasn't able to get a clone of it.

If you've got the space take a clone of 1 of the taller fruity plants and then take 1 off the smaller chem smelling plant and decide on which one to keep after you smoke the seedrun plants. Enjoy those CDSDs and take care 1

lemon / lime = fruit.

But the pheno of Chem D x Sour D we used to run (Phillthy's ChemSour) was FIRE through and through. Still maybe the most potent cannabis I've ever smoked.

A very even blend of the two parents. Maybe a touch more chemmy - but done in 9wk - pure fire.
