Gil, I don't think the exact origins of Digi can be declared...
She was around a given area - not too far from where DJ spent some time early in his career, but certainly not local either - but was around 1984-1986 when she first showed on the scene. She was around for about 2-3 years before she was kept by a close friend as a clone ever since...pushing nearly 30 years now. All we know about Digi is she is super old - pure blueberry muffins - and has a great thai high and finishes in about 53-58 days. I have no clue if she is related to any of DJ's work - or if she is even a "true" blueberry genetic - she could be some random plant that SMELLS like blueberry - but I find that to be highly unlikely given her color schemes and such - she is a blueberry of some decent. I can't say for certain if she came from any of DJ's work or not. She doesn't grow like ANY of the lines DJ has every offered... I truly think, Digi is the best blueberry I've ever encountered. It's why I love her so much and choose to work with the line. Nothing else "blueberry" beats it. I've tried a lot of them. Digi is a total package plant, in regards to what blueberry SHOULD be... dank.Frank

Thanks DF. That's exactly what I was wondering. I can't wait to see what the f2s have to offer. The bay still hasn't received my payment, or they haven't updated my status anyway.
Any ideas where the name came from? And are there any pics of the original I can check out? Thanks again. -gil |

Chili_Berkster holds the original cut - I sorted a bunch of his Bx1 seeds to find a true breeding male - one that passed the terepene and cannabinoid profile of the original digi mom.
The Bx1 = Digi x Bluebubble Bluebubble - Digi x Sour Bubble Bx2 Chili's Bluebubble male is up there with the best breeding males I have ever witnessed. Any stock from that male comes out extremely frosty. Chili has found some amazing plants from his bluebubble crosses...as have I. The Bx1 male I selected was used to make a Digi Bx2 line that has yet to be sorted. I still have some of the Digi Bx1 seeds to sort out as well. These pics are Chili's: If you look through the Carolina Blue x Digi Bx1 grows around the site and in different peoples threads, you'll notice instantly the resin profile passed by my Digi Bx1 male is IDENTICAL to the original mom... I expect the Bx2 line to be unreal in the flavor / high department. I'll be medicating on some form of Digi until they put me in the ground... dank.Frank

If you look at the F1's that Verdant made in the pictures above - you can see how dominant my Digi Bx1 male breeds. Completely different flower structure vs VG's mother plant. However, I expect the F2's that he is offering to have some VERY unique phenos. Not too many blueberry plants exist that have VG's unique foxtail buds - and I beleive VG has kept his mom since early/mid 2000's.
What you have in VG's work - is a great female he loves with a very true breeding classic old school thai influenced blue male. The euphoric / up / clear headed / 3rd eye introspective / love life type of effects should be a given in the line....what people expect when they sort blueberry genes... dank.Frank

So pretty. Are the colors genetic, or temp induced?
Wish I could smell it through the screen. |

The colors are a genetic factor in the Digi. Temps don't matter, much. Her flowers are green - it's just her fall colors coming through. Senescence. The yellows and maroons and purple tinges are all genetic...
This was a Digi Bx1 female I ran for a bit - you can see how it purples up a bit more in the leaves when ran a bit cooler: Nov. 2011 POTM winner You can see here in a bit of a colder room, how the leaves in this pheno went more purple - but only as the plant got older. Mostly the yellow/magenta/purple twinges - still, fully green flowers. It's what really keeps me curious about the Digi honestly. IT MUST be blueberry GENETICALLY if it throws such colors - one would think...lol. Regardless, Digi is one amazing mother plant - and I'll continue to work within the line as the years go by... I'm just truly glad that VG was able to utilize the pollen in a way that gets more true unique blueberry out there for people to enjoy!! That is what it is all about!! Getting the good good to the masses. dank.Frank

I'm going to try to take it at least a few more generations from the f2s. If I get something worthwhile out of it, is there a way to share it back to you guys? Or just the community in general?

You'd have to talk to VG and see what his plans / intentions for his work are....
