Super Lemon Haze phenos

What am I looking for as far as desirable phenos? I currently have 4 going.

One is a very thin leafed and branchy girl, two of them are fairly branchy with slightly fatter leaf structure and the other is kind of in the middle as far as leaf structure but doesnt want to branch. Looks like it will just be a stick of bud.

So the one pheno that doesnt like to branch smells the sweetest/lemony?. 2 others smell much more spicy/peppery and one is spicy/peppery with a hint of lemon.

I have never had SSH before so I am guessing the spicy/pepper aroma comes from that side.

Hi Bmac1,

Any pictures to share? Interested in this strain myself.

Surprised you have gotten no replies as I thought this is a pretty popular and available strain?

This forum is a bit of a ghost town. These are coming down today and tomorrow. I ended up with 3 of them smelling like lemon jolly ranchers and one holding on to that peppery/spicy aroma.

The one that didnt want to branch as well as the peppery one, arent quite done yet at 10 weeks but are coming down anyway as I cant just run the light for these two plants.

I have posted a couple pics on the site, check out my albums and you will see a few pics of them.

Here is my experience with slh.

Two phenos, one lemony as you describe and one that was very similar but had a walnut shell smell and taste. It wasn't really strong but many friends I smoked it with said the same thing. I kept the lemony one, very good smoke, and covered with trichs.

I feel like anyone who runs slh will find something very good. I can easily recomend this strain to everyone.

I have been growing SLH for years and have popped dozens of seeds. The pheno you are looking for is the bushy, dark green, fatter leaved one that smells of sweet lemon candy. This pheno has a more rounded high, better taste and smell. This pheno leans more towards the lemon skunk. The woman who have tried it says that it makes them horny. I have found this one to be more desirable for concentrates. This pheno also does not stretch as much as the other and has tighter bud structures and it finishes in 10 weeks.

You are correct with the earthy pepper thinner leafed light green pheno - it leans more towards the SSH. This one actually has a higher THC content and it is usually reserved for advanced smokers. The high will knock your socks off, get your heart racing, and last for hours. It usually stretches a little more and takes almost 11 weeks to properly finish.

I guess to each their own. I prefer the sweet lemon pheno as it is easier to grow, yields better, looks nicer, finishes faster, and has a better all around smoke. I am growing one of each in the below link - the one on the left is the spicy pepper and the one on the right is the sweet lemon pheno:

Hope this helps - happy growing!

My keeper SLH is a thinner leafed one with very serrated cuts in the leaves and a 80% stretch and finishes in 9 weeks. Intense sativa high and once cured (even before) the smell is intense Lemony Haze candy its amazing. I ran some concentrates of her and they completely lost the flavor and high of the flowers. I have a clone of her at 34 days I can snap pictures of when the lights come on later. I also agree with Chris the fatter leafed pheno makes great concentrates and has a great high but I was specifically looking for the racier sativa pheno so I kept that one. I really have nothing bad to say about any SLH seed I have popped.

Chris, thanks for your input and I have checked out your thread. I believe I got both phenos you mentioned in my pack of SLH.

I had the one that didnt want to branch, smelled lemony from the get go. Looks like an 11-12 weeker, wont be keeping.

I had a branchy, stretchy girl that looks like a 12ish weeker and thats the one with the spicy/peppery aroma, very thin leaves and very sugary.

I had another one with more swollen calyxes than the others. Thin leaves again and very nice trich coverage. It started out with the spicy/pepper aroma and then half way through flower, really took on a lemon jolly rancher smell. Now that its drying, the spicy/pepper smell is coming back. looks like a 9-10 weeker.

Finally, I have the pheno that I believe leans heavily on the skunk side. Thicker leaves than the rest but still thin compared to some broader leaf plants. The most lemon funk of the bunch, dense buds and covered in trichs. It was more leafy than the rest and looks to be a 10 weeker as well.

I will give all but the non branchy one another run before deciding which ones will become mothers. Right now I am thinking the skunky one and the 12 weeker look the most interesting.

Cant wait to puff some in about a week.
