Learning the rules well,so as to break them effectively.

Sativa Loco and Border Haze are simply a to start a hunt and not the outcome of the hunt... From what I've read on working with Mexican genetics of yesteryear one should expect a little Loco from time to time during the hunt. "naturally" is such a great way to express what im after with her... Naturally occurring expressions of phenos and flavors uniquely Mexican. Border haze though was more a desire for a stable flavor of Mexican and funny who well she turned out to be just that... Not sure I want to hunt the Mexican out of her.... More like take her to another level as is...

Day 62 Week 9 Pictures
I really like her smell - I can't describe it either - which is partially why! but its soft but kinda sour with the slightest touch of somethign sweet.
I just ripped a sample nug off Pics from the weekend. Right now this bitch is front row and center practically under the bulb. Shes still foxtailing hard and this trim work doesn't look fun but with that said if the smoke holds out and she weighs out - might be a good plant to keep around and use for concentrates. She was REALLY easy to grow and I think with just ONE topping this plant would of been bonkers. I checked the smart pot today - rooted top to bottom and its a 5 gal with 3 inches left of space for medium. ITs funny how everyone grows different. I don't even use my scope anymore and orange hairs mean nothing to me lol I go by leaf color/life stages to determine how well the flush is complete - if that makes sense. So I foresee another week to 10 days for this bitch to get close to ready. If shes a true 80 day plant then the swell is just starting!

As you can tell shes been getting flushed. I would of took her longer if she let me BUT... She's started to hermie Day 70 Week 10 - maybe Day 69.
I walked up to inspect her and instantly noticed a cluster - twirled her around to find another - She got a solid 7 days of flush - and I mean flush - I been flooding her smart pot. I only found 2 clusters of what looks like a green miniature hermit crab haha so the verdict was to harvest. Her structure is very fox tail-y once you get higher up the cola - Down in the mid and lower section the plant is more stacked - dense and there are basically no foxtails. I have a clone and will be flowering it out along with cloning the strain again because I don't believe in one grow telling the whole story from my recent experiences. Also know how long to handle her so I can get afull 2 week flush in on her and see what she shows us from that also. I really like her smell and I can't wait ot smoke her - the sample was piney - ish and the head change was instant and its definitely sativa dom but def a hybrid cause a real sativa takes atleast imo 16 weeks. My camera died on me and I couldn't charge the battery fast enough to not harvest her and then take more pics - so I started with the fan leaves as always - zero frost on all the fan leaves - and that can be a good thing making trimming more controlable instead of deciding on how you are going to save all those precious crystals. So After plucking fans I was already sticky - hip hip - I decided to use a scissor trimming style as I didn't plan to do anything with these buds except save a few examples to blaze personally and then blast the rest to make BHO. So appearance wasn't vital and making the trim job easy was - success. I left alot of leaf on the plant - she was extremely leafy and thats a huge down side cause the trim was not fun on any level - especially with the ridiculous fox tails lol I will keep her tho based upon smoke - because I'm trying to put together a few stronger sativa hybrids for concentrates because I'm sick and fuckign tired of all the indica out here. So if the terpentenes really come thru with some potency and the second run shows an easier control on growth to reduce foxtails and concentrate on more of a bushy structure to increase the density and way the nodes stack the buds. I really like her growth structure of the pistils including hairs - very different from everything ive seen - also her crystals are MUCH SHORTER than the typical ones I see under a scope - BTW harvest was with PURE WHITE MILKY HEADS - I was stoked because I couldn't see amber or clear trichs and I needed her down - Getting lucky... The Trichomes have extremely short stalks but the heads are really round and fat and I think thats a very nice trait to have. Once again - smokking the buds will determine everything. With all that said I'd like to thank Alien Dawg for the opportunity to test for him - and apologize for the mistakes I made with his generosity and hard work, embarrassing. But I will be making a second run of this lady and there will be more information to use. Alien Dawg - from my lack of knowledge in breeding and from what I can humbly muster for you as what I think you should know about the Sativa loco that I grew and experienced so far is I think you should really work these genetics - If you can improve calyx distribution/swell while reducing leaf material and accenting the trichomes these would be very fine genetics based on how it would look alone. After the smoke i'll be back to tell you if flavor is strong and what the potency is like. I'm going to buy a loop capable of letting me take really nice macro shots so I can show you these trichomes on Round 2. Now onto the porn!!!
