Its crazy to hear so many people talk trash, yet others claim he is the truth and swear by him. What did he do that made him a legend?

People who claim he is the truth don't know him at all, and people who talk trash know him all too well. The quality genetics he stole and used to create his varieties are what made him both a legend and an outcast. He is not welcome in his old growing circles in the Pacific Northwest. This was told to me by DJ Short, who got his information directly from the people Soma screwed. I will not post again in this thread.

Is this not what every breeder does today ?? think about it i can name a shit load of breeders that do just that, they take other peoples strains , cross it with some plant again from another breeder and call it what ever
If you really think about it there is only one breeder out there that has his signature style and that would be DJ the rest of the breeders signatures are scattered all over the place
know one bothers any more to cull in consequence or work a line which takes years
Today is about pounding out the most seeds stable or not

Ahhh no... Well that's a shame to hear I must say I wasn't aware of this shadiness n theres me bigging his strain up maybe the pheno Scott from rare dankness selected must be what made the offspring so good in my moonshine haze beans that I popped.. I don't agree with stealing at all tho especially good cannabis.. If u deserve it u will be givin or offered.. If not then just ask don't steal lol..

This thread is here to share notes on the behavior of current Soma seed stock, so as to give other users information that helps them decide whether or not to try these seeds, and to help those who do choose to buy them find success. This company may or may not continue, and for me, after years of mixed reviews, it's a definite "last hurrah" for these old timers.

My Observations:

Soma seeds are some older stock, and therefore will have lower strike rates, especially if they are treated less than ideally. The older the seeds, the worse this will be, relatively new creations like SoGouda and Kushadelic seem more viable than old standards like Rockbud and Lavender. If you're used to simply popping moistened seeds into soil, these seeds are not for you.

Almost all of the seeds I popped from Soma required physical assistance in removing at least their inner seed coats, in my case this is done with steady hands and fine pointed wooden stick, but i've seen people use small scissors / tweezers to good effect as well. If your seedlings are popping up, but remain stuck in the seed coat, moisten it thoroughly and then remove it.

Even at 50% off, these seeds are an expensive risk, for the same price as 10 female Kushadelics, I could order two or more packs from different breeders, and the average user is probably better off choosing that path, but, if you spend the money on Soma stock, please take the extra care needed to try and coax life out of it. If you're in need of a good seed starting procedure, check around the forums, there are lots of people including me who are more than happy to help.

When sharing your observations, please try to be detailed about physical characteristics and behaviors which caused problems for you, your attempted method of correction, and whether or not it helped with that or future attempts.

I absolutely agree with you. I had same issues with the seed coats like you mentioned on every NYCD pack i got. Not to mention the price i payed for those 30 fem seeds and the range of pheno's in there.

I dont know Soma personaly so i can not speak about him as a person. Fact is he has some very unique genetics in his collection which are really worth discovering. But on the other hand his gear is extremely expensive, one of the most expensive seeds on the market, not to mention the variety of phenos you get from the packs. I'm a really big fan of his NYCD and totaly in love with the taste of the real deal grapefruit pheno. For me the best tasting strain ever but i can not understand how he can put the price so high on those unstable seeds.
