PCK Breeding
I've got 17 PCK out of two packs, all germed but three died of drought. I am seeing more and more "pink/purple" strains and can't help but wonder if these strains contain genes from PCK. I do not know another strain that produces this trait. Anyhow here are my 17 PCK males and females as of yet.

Nice green color on those man.
Whats your project ? Just selecting and crossing inside the PCK or crossing to other strains ? Good luck ![]()

I'm just planning on inbreeding another generation through open pollenation, I will be placing some female DP durban poison (should be stellar), LMI x Purple Kush, and RKS nearby. I am only open pollenating for personal resons and plan to do a large seed run next year to find the right parentals for a PCK x Blueberry or even PCK x MOB.

Update, plants were started too late. down to 15 with 9-10 males. All males have stretched a lot while the females keep squat. so far there is a purple male and fat green male. all others are in between. Females don't appear as though they are about to flower, seems odd as the males are entering full bloom...

It has been my experience that when grown at the same time, males tend to grow faster and flower far before the females, I usually end up collecting the pollen from the males and storing it until the females are farther into flowering and it's about 4-5 weeks before harvesting time to pollinate the females. I recently had a male in my flowering room and it pollinated all my girls even though they hadn't really begun to flower yet, I'm still harvesting seeds off my girls after removing the male, and since I am indoors, I plan on revegging the females after removing all the seeds I want, then flip them back into flowering. You should get seeds, but your yield for flowers will be much smaller than if you had been able to let them flower longer before they were exposed to the pollen. Just my 2 cents.

Your absolutely right about the males being earlier, in most strains i have grown the males usually show one to two weeks earlier than the females, but these PCK males seem 2-3 weeks earlier than the females. I was merely noting the uniqueness.,

I would be very very interested in the seeds if you have a purple dominant female to cross that purple male onto. I have popped several packs of PCK and all were green no purple, and the purple is what I am searching for for a future purple tricome project, as I make a lot of bho... as I have a lot of "breeding" projects I've been working on for several years, and have been trying to get the purple pheno of PCK for about 4 years... with no luck so far, but am about to yet again buy another pack and hope for the purple to come this time. I guess I need to go check the bay/bou and buy another pack, and the double thai has me intrigued too... as next year I'm going to concentrate on the long flowering time/landrace sativas, as I have the space for it and do these types of sativa runs about every 3-5 years, and working on the red tricome project as well as a rosebud project.. so many projects, but if I do happen to acquire some stains/phenos I have been searching for I would definitely shift my priorities to make my goals a reality instead of my seemingly endless search for what I seek... Sounds like you have some interesting crosses you're planning on working on in the near future... I'm interested to see what you end up doing and the results.
