our hotshots are home
We just went out white spar and stood with many others to welcome our young men back to town. I stood with my arizona flag to bear witness to their ultimate price paid.
Live every day like it may be your last. peace |

Those 19 died making a heroic effort, but in vain. Tankers that did not get sent when requested, wicked hot changing winds. I hope they take a good look at forest management. A healthy forest can take occasional fires to clear out the underbrush and keep future fires from burning so hot they kill the mature trees.
Can't imagine what their last moments were like, except pure terror and pain. Not the first time we've lost wild fire fighters, let's hope they never put guys into a potential deathtrap like that again. There are organizations like the 100 Club and others that will help the families of these men and are taking donations for that. |
