Thanks for the nice words, everyone! I tell you all something, I haven't touched the Hz/Sk since I've been home from work today, but she really is tempting me. I'm toking some decent bud right now, but all I'm thinking about is that hazey high. She's not done curing by a great deal imo, but wow, I really want to smoke her.

Hey, Gelado! I also bought this pack as discontinued stock @ the 'bou for $17. Well worth it, but, the pack I received was so old, that it didn't even have all of the older Nirvana strains listed on the breeder pack, let alone any of the newer ones. I ended up germing the whole pack (8 seeds total, two were imature and hollow in the pack), and out of a 6 week gestation, only one seed cracked (after 24 hours), and that is the plant I have today. I also ended up putting all 8 seeds dropped into a matchbox that was sandpaper lined to help scuff the surfaces. With that said, any pack you get will be years, if not over a decade old. Take all the steps you can to ensure a more successful germination ratio, and good luck! If you (or anyone) has any Haze19 hybrid plant/grow pics, I would love to see them! So please feel free to post pics here.

Hey, MSS! Thanks for the nice words. As far as the Thai goes, I can't tell you from personal experience as I've never really grown any Thais out as far as purity is concerned... hybrids of hybrids with Thai in the make-up, sure, plenty of those, but not something so pure as I could make any judgements or comparisons. But, I know bigherb made comparisons between my decription of this hybrid and to the purple haze, which I definately agree with. Anyways, thanks for the kind words again, and I'm glad you enjoyed the report.

Hey, bigherb! Thanks for the nice words! Hope you don't mind me using you in the quote above. TBH, I had you in mind when I was writing the majority of this report. There's hardly any info on the web about Haze #19 and the hybrids created with it, so I figure the more detailed, the better. Anyways, thanks for the kind words again, and when I run her again, I'll update this thread with pics of her. Take care.

I'm in agreement with you there, HITH! IMO, the skunks heaviest influence on this particular pheno is the overall structure of the plant, the yield, and probably a small shortening of time in flower (although I don't know if the original haze19 selection is a quicker flowering haze or not). The bud structure and high however leans very hazy. Take care.

100% agreement, there! Have had great luck with Nirvana, especially their older "posi" stock. Thanks for the kind words, OSG!

MC, the guys at the store said it was five years old and they refrigerate everything. I bought New York Power Diesel and Raspberry Cough, but haven't tried to germ them yet. If I get a decent germ rate, I'll raid their fridge for all the discount stuff they have left!

Cool

I just started germinating some Nirvana Haze19xSkunk seeds I bought from the boutique in November 2011. (very tiny seeds?)

I should know something by Christmas

Very nice report
I've never been disappointed by Nirvana's (Sativa Seedbank) sativas.
And I love their pure Haze (Haze #1, Haze #13 or whatever they call it now), been smoking it the last 6 months and it gets better and better. Euphoric clear kindness which when overindulged, like you describe, sends you to a comfortable dreamy haze. Pure old-school goodness.
I keep a stash of a powerful Thai hybrid for the rare cases the Haze feels too kind and I want something harder-hitting, but this desire is quite rare - I want to smoke the Haze from the morning till falling asleep. Definitely high-quality high that can enhance every occasion.

Awesome, man! That sounds great. Good luck on both the diesel and the cough, along with any other packs you get.

Hey, PW! Me and you seem to share a lot of the same interests in Nirvana gear. Good luck with that stock man, I bought mine around the same time (escapes my memory at this time, but I write the dates received down on all the packs I get) and I know it's really old, so I hope you get a good germination ratio. The beans. if I remember them right, were mixed in size. Some were small, some were average size, and a couple were not fully developed. Anyways, if you end up startign a grow thread or something, could you let me know? I would love to follow along.

Hey, yoss! Agreed on the Nirvana Hazes and the Sativa Seedbank, I grew out a mixed pack a while back, I belive it was before Nirvana aquired SSeedbank, and was pleasantly surprised with a couple of females I found out of a pack. And actually, your review on Nirvanas Haze in the strains & hybrids section (along with another strain you reviewed in the same thread I believe) helped me decide to grab the pack I did. I was deciding between the Hz/Sk and the Maui-Waui X Hawiian (or skunk, I can't remember), and the reviews on the haze (yours included) clenched it for me. Anyways, thanks for the kind words!

I might have to dig into my stash of beans and pull this one out for next round. Didn't find many reports on it years back when I bought it, but I knew I wasn't going to wait 14-18+ weeks to try a haze, so Haze19 Skunk was a sure try for 18$ back then. And 95 days to harvest? Not bad at all, the Sour D I'm running now will take a week+ longer than that, if I'm lucky about the same time.

I planted one or two seeds (hz19sk) years ago when I was running my "150w HPS medical closet grow", but any I planted turned out male, really stretchy and crazy thin stems, so I gave up on it with my small HPS light... Now I have a LED, so I might need to try out some nice, Long Flowering, sativas.

again for the great report and also jogging my memory that I still have these gems laying around

Hey, Ahzden! Thanks for the kind words! I was expecting a tall stretch with my plant too, but got an average skunk stretch, so in that sense, kind of threw me off a bit, pretty much the exact opposite of what happened with yours. Its all good though. Anyways, good luck with the rest of your Hz/Sk seeds, I hope you find some winners, and I'm glad you enjoyed the report.

ManyClouds do you think their current Haze #1 would be similar to the strain you grew?

Hey, lemongrove! Well, I can't tell you one way or the other when it comes to that specific haze line from Nirvana, as I've never grown it, but, going by the description alone, it sounds very nice. I'm pretty sure this is the Haze line that yoss flowered out (same line that's also sold by the Sativa Seedbank), and his thread on it would probably have more info for you on that line. The flowering time that's listed is about the same as the Hz/Sk that I grew, but mine is a haze hybrid, and I'm not sure if the Haze 1 is a pure haze or not. IMHO really, it definately couldn't hurt to try it. Just keep in mind on how a haze grows and prep for it, and you should be golden!

Here's a couple of pics of the Hz/Sk after a little over a couple months cure. As you can see, she pretty much has turned to a darker tan color, almost a "wood" color.

The high is basically the same, except it lasts a bit longer, but still a shorter duration, mellower, very happy high. I also just want to clarify, when I say it's a short duration high, I mean the euphoric head blast is short duration, the after effects last quite some time. You're all "floaty" for a good couple of hours, but the peak goes fast. The smell has changed, though. It lost all of the earthy notes, and the sweet pine took over. It's all sweet piney buds, now.

Also, IMVHO, judging by how the calyxes are, the smells, the high, I'm leaning towards the original Haze #19 selection being a very Columbian leaning selection rather than heavy Thai. Everything I've read about the highs of certain Columbian lines, to the way they grow, to what they smell like lead me to come to this conclusion. Take a look at CBG's Columbian Mangobiche line, look at the pics (giant speartip calyxes), look at kaikis description of the high... lots of parallels. Thais... not so much. They seem to be more trippy, speedy, and longer lasting.

One other thing, I've noticed a lot of hybrids that have Columbian lines in them tend to have a lot of pine, menthol, and grape aromas. Again... lots of similarities. These are all just opinions I have, so please take them with a grain of salt. Anyways, I'm planning on throwing some Super Star pollen at her as soon as I flower out another Hz/Sk and the SS male, and in a month or two, I plan on doing a seed buy which includes two packs of Mangobiche (want to find a nice male or more). I also want to get a pack of their Punta Rojo, and Aces Double Thai if I can afford it.
