Question Are there two windows of opportunitie to apply pollen?

My understanding is when the ladies through out her white fingers.
You apply pollen and bingo. .
Once the whites turn brown, its to late. .

Is this correct?

Is there a second window?

Thanks for taking the time. .

Peace. ..

I would apply pollen when the most pistils are available, yet there is still adequate time to develop seed... for an 8 week run I like to pollinate between days 21-24. I'm no expert. I wonder why it is you would want to pollinate multiple times?

For me..
If I can catch the pistils at their prime then once is enough..
But if the pistils turn before I have pollen then 3 times it is ...
Just to make sure and I suppose maximized seed production.

I started the male 10 days after the females and this seems to have been a little late...

Next time ill go with 5 days...

Riding one hell of a Learning curve... Wheeee....

Thanks for the 2 cents Maga...

If I had an 8 week run, the seeds from pollination at week 4 would be iffy and and those developing from pollination at week 6 would have only had two weeks to develop and would not be ready at all, so I'm unsure why you would try to pollinate later in the flowering cycle... unless you're taking your plants much longer?

At first it seemed as though you were talking about applying stored pollen... the 21-24 day pollination was for me placing the male in flower at day 7 of the females. I'm sure there is variance.

My pool#1 is a heavy sativa pool and pool 2 is a mix and I plan on giving both 10-11 weeks to do the best they can (Dependent on how they act)
they,may not want 11...

This is only if my male dont start pumping pollen in the next 5 days of so...

A back up idea(you can call it)

Day 25-35 being the window im looking at.(again Dependent on the plant/Strain)

Cool so i only missed by 3 days...

Im just in learning mode and I could just look this up(and have) only
the more input the better and the fresher the juice the sweeter the drink...

Peace and thanks again...

the amount of calyxes present at pollination will be the amount of seeds,

just wait until your girl looks like she can support a good amount of seeds and let your boy do his thing with her ,,
leave them together a week ,
youll get plenty of seeds ,
no need to do it twice ....

ive found the second later pollination can leave lots of unripe seed,
a pita ,
one time around half way into flower should give you lots of nice ripe uniform seeds at the end..

assuming a 10 week strain... after week 4, after week 6. no more, seeds need at least 4 weeks to ripen. week 4 pistils are in full swing, week 6-8 final flush of new pistils before ripening. most strains anyway.
