Exclamation DEHYDRATORS ARE UNDER RATED

One of my favorite tools in harvesting is a good food dehydrator. The common misconception is that you loose flavor or potency using a dehydrator but if you get a good one with a low temp thermostat its amazing how well it works. Mine dries at 94 degrees and can handle close to a halfa pound. I used to hang mine and it sometimes took nearly a week to be dry enough to jar. Now I can do it nearly overnight. Don't get me wrong. A good jar of a month or two is still essential to a good cure. but if used properly I defy anyone to tell the difference between hanging and drying in a dehydrator. You just have to know when to pull it (not too over dry) I generally run it at 94 degrees (full) for about 6-8 hours. at this point they are a little more than half dry. I then move them around and give em another 3-4 hours. When they feel dry but not crunchy they are ready for the cure (no less than a month no more than 6)

Thanks for the info. I have been planning on trying one this grow. What do you think about this inexpensive little unit from Walmart? https://www.walmart.com/catalog/produ...uct_id=1120727

It's only $45 and has an adjustable thermo. It might be a little on the small side - I will probably have to cut my colas in half to fit them. That would be a shame, but it's better than letting them get moldy.

Exclamation Wrong !!!!

If your getting green tasting buds you need to work on your technique sounds like you got carried away. The trick is not to over dry them and cure as usual. You will shave about 4 days off of your usable harvest and NO difference in flavor.

techniqe? Try having some real patientce and grow the correct way .Hey lets take a poll ,dehydraters vs line dried ? Youre stupid advise to tell people to dehydrate there buds is lame . Go ahead fellow icers do it newbies , you will regeret it 100%. I would never purchase youre medicine. Dehydrate a small amount for desperation maybe , but youre whole crop? why?RUSH RUSH, RUSH , the first growers sin in cultivating true medicine. peace

Talking You my friend...are an asshole

Just because you dried the piss outta your stash and ruined it doesn't mean the device (or advise) is flawed. To dry properly in a dehydrator with low temps is the same as hanging with a fan set up. It is just a more controled environment. In fact, if anything, the dehydrator keeps more of the terpenes (flavor) in the weed by recycling the air around. When drying, what you smell is the green smell of fresh cut grass rather than sweet weed smell.
If the weed is dried (not overdried) properly and you cure as usual you will see I'm right. Keep trolling all you want. I have been doing this on and off for better than 35 years and I know what works and is bullshit.

Lined or screen dried with a healthy dose of patience. Slower dry = better bud. Or maybe ya'll would like to ask Dj Shorts or JLP or.....
