The IC Organic Growers Community Thread.

Hi all , this may or may not work, but i felt we might need a general Organic chat thread now that some other threads are over. The idea here is that everyone is included.

We all have different wants, needs, limitations and philosophies. We tailor our grows to fit our lives, but at the end of the day we are all organic and everybody can compare notes, swap tips and thrash out ideas, chew the fat (of the land), learn from each other and offer support.

let us know how you grow, how it's going and whats on your mind - whether its recycled, bottles, pots or beds, till or no-till, soil or soilless - n00bs and experts all welcome!
Feel free to throw up some pics, in fact i will put up some seeds for the best plant pics posted if that is ok with the mods - more about that later.

If you are running a grow diary elsewhere on IC then post up a link, let us know where you are.

Lets see what grows from this. Please keep it inclusive and open-minded.

No problem MrS! - i may be naive and idealistic to think we can move beyond the 'tribal' stuff that has led to many of IC's most notable organic growers staying away from this forum, but if it doesn't happen then at least i've tried.

You dont have to post pics to participate in this thread, but, Going back to the competition for the best plant pics, I'll put up a pack of Mr.Greengenes Cherry Bomb (Maui Wowie) seeds for a prize at the end of the summer. This is a pure legit maui line that Mr.G has maintained since the 70's and they are some cool and rare genetics - This is what Reeferman used as one side of his Cherry Bomb, but these are the originals, a proper IBL with great vigor.
some quite pretty pink pistils in some of the phenos

i was just starting these two in veg to see how they do, then once i have room in the tent i will build 4 more. plan is to vert 2x 600 stacked in flower with two levels, 3 beds on the floor and 3 on benches above the floor beds. used to just do 5 gallon ROLS, so onward and upward.

Thumbs up Great thread Verdant!

This is how I roll with organics. Down to earth "Pro Organic Mix" soil which contains

-sphagnum peat moss
-organic worm compost
-perlite
-oyster shell
-mycorrizhae/ bacterias
- coco coir
- diatomite

As for nutes I use BioBizz... no PH, no fuss... mix, aerate, and watch the magic happen. Once a week I make a high phos guano tea once into bloom. The plants really react to these methods, my recent round yielded 2lbs/1K, and I know theres room for improvement! Here's some nug porn from the past and present. Much love OG fiends. SL

Sweet,I haven't been around in a little while, real busy planting a huge veg garden and I have a kid on the way so internet time has been limited.

I see a lot has changed in the month or so I have been gone. Old faces gone and new ones everywhere, I love paradigm shifts, it was getting hostile in here.

Its a shame some folks egos get the best of them, the knowledge that some of them have amassed and brought to us was outstanding and really helped open my eyes and I am sure a lot of others to some great tricks (sprout teas, fast teas, Aloe, coconut etc) to help push plants to the max, but at the same time scared a lot of people off.

There are more then one way to skin a cat.

I personally push using the least environmentally damaging methods to produce the best medicine possible. For me that means making my own worm castings, varied Ca sources, local rock dusts, using only fish hydrolyzes, aloe/coconut, alfalfa/ seaweed/compfrey/locally sourced herbs top dressing and teas, living mulches and reusing my soil.

I have had great results and will post pic tomm after my final chop for a little while. I have to move these babys out to make room for my new one, trading up a bunch of girls for a little boy.

Thanks mods and you old schoolers for keeping it real.

Here is some random old pics

Crushing it as usual Stagger. How often do you mix nutes/keep reservoir?
Sweet Poster too. Been to Family Affair at Horning's, years ago. 2002 maybe. Would be hitting Cheese there this year if it were not for Phish's California dates somewhat overlapping.

Vortex Best of luck with your soon to be breathing air little boy! Its a whole new world. Birth is some profoundness to bare witness to.
