hey mate sorry to here of ya troubles, i water my coco when the top looks dry, this i find helps with over watering. COCO is very forgiving.
I hope ya got canna coco nutes or ya gona run into troubles aswell. Ya should make all ya plants your focus at that stage, y let some do worse than others. Id sayt none of thoes plants could be root bound all way to small and ya pots r big enough, go look at some threads of coco grows do some reasearch n ya should be on ya way. But to make it easy for ya....ph 6...ec at 0.5 , flood em n let em dry out completly.

I use Canna Coco A and B and Pk-13-14 for flowering .The plant before seemed definitely root bound to me, i had it in my smallest pot for way too long. But now it's been moved into a bigger pot and should be going fine again ^_^. I also have a ph liquid tester kit (one of the most accurate ones on the market) and i have ph up and down. I keep my ph at 6. I don't have an EC meter though, really need to get one of those and will be picking it up along with some 2600k lights when flowering time comes round. Thanks for all your advice though.

Anyone know what's going on here?
Seems to be a purple brownish colour outlining all of the leaves. Unsure what's causing this? lack of nutes? too much nutes? some kind of deficiency? Transplant shock? Heat stress? |

what r u feeding them, how hot is it in the room, how long ago did you transplant...yes its a deficiency of some sort, could be underfed n over watered i reckon, but if u just transpanted in last day or 2 should bounce back if ya nutes n ph n temps r spot on

not heat stress . I had some plants survive in an attic with temps over a 100 c temp.
I would guess over water or ph is outta wack . start with GOOD water reverse osmosis . feed light no more than 1/2 strength . feed water feed should be fine for such a small plant . U have to get these plants on track asap if u want a successful harvest. I have noticed when people start growing they sometimes love their plants to much and over water them let the top soil dry out before u water again . U must be using tap water ? Have u tested it ? Good luck hopefully u can pull this lady outta of it . |

Thanks for all the good advice guys.
The water i use is tap water than has been ph tested and adjusted to a ph of about 6. Now that i think of it it's likely not a heat stress issue because my temps don't get that high (22-28c) considering we're going into winter over here in Aus. You said your temps were over 100c!? that sounds ridiculous and dangerous. My plants would get heat stress if the temps went up to 35-40. I'm just feeding them Canna A and B. Do you think i should chuck some seasol in there? I'll not water it for a bit then i'll start watering again with low dose nutes. Thanks for advice/support guys. |

looks & sounds to me that your PH is off . around 6 is good , but you really need to be more percise with your feeds of canna nutes . get yourself a PH meter at least , but if you can swing it get a TDS or EC meter too . so you know exactly what your feeding . coco can be finiky if not fed right . canna nutes are formulated for tap water , they expect your tap to have certain levels of cal & mag & other micro nutes . if your using RO as suggested you need calmag & epsom for the little extra mag that canna needs .
A plant that small should be getting fed around 500 TDS at a PH of 5.8 to be healthy , right now you have no real way of checking ...... do your self a favor if your going to be growing in coco , get the meters !!! Blue Lab has a pretty good set for around $ 150 https://www.ebay.com/itm/200884643015?hlp=false&var= sounds like to me that your pretty new to growing & coco's a tuff medium to start off with . it gets easy as you learn about its needs , but untill then its gonna be a struggle .

I've been looking at that bluelab ph for a while but then thought it'd be a cheaper option to get a 10-20 dollar ph soil meter (which i did get locally). I'll definitely try and sort out the calmag and epsom though. And yeah i just sort have been feeding whenever, i'll try to organize a little calendar so there's a set date for each feed. Also will look into the EC Meter (they aren't too expensive anyways). Thanks for the advice again. |
