Paradise Ice Cream / 250W MH

I have a Paradise Ice Cream seedling that is a few days old and vegging under 20/4. I plan on cloning it to fill eight two gallon Smartpots in a mix of good, loose peat, coco, worm castings, perlite and even a little Hydroton. She's only a few days old now.

50% peat
35% coco
10% perlite
3% hydroton
2% worm castings

This grow will be entirely organic.

I know the Ice Cream has several phenotypes. If I get a good one, I'll keep her as a mom.

Setup is a 80 x 80 x 160cm tent. I am going to use a 250W, 4000K metal halide through veg and flowering, and I am supplementing with around 50W of plant-specific LED bulbs with 1W, 2W and 3W emitters in a variety of wavelengths.

This is a legal grow, but due to space and the fact I only need a little smoke for myself, I will be keeping it small.

pH will be adjusted with white vinegar since my tap water is alkaline. I will be feeding them with a well-aerated tea of good organic amendments.

She's doing her thing. I'm out of pot and won't harvest my first autoflowering AK for another month, so it's painful to watch those buds fatten up!

I had two Paradise Durga Mata beans from '06 or '07 in the fridge. They only recently made it to the fridge and had been stored in a box in my bedroom for years. Not expecting much, but I put them on moist cotton wool in a ziplock bag and wet the cotton wool down. I'll add a little H2O2 to my spray bottle to keep the nasties at bay. Fingers crossed!

My 2 cents on Paradises' Ice Cream, at least from the phenos I've seen, they are REALLY light feeders! Which, because you're doing organic will invite less of a chance of burning, but wanted to let you know that they require very little else than just plain water...Expect medium, to slightly less than medium yields, but people absolutely LOVE the 50/50 buzz, and most comment on wonderful taste too. Good Luck

Thanks, that's really good info and I will feed lightly (I usually do)! I'll work out what it is my mom wants once she's a little older. So far it's just worm castings, azomite and leonardite in the medium and she looks happy.

As for the DMs, they are floating in dilute H2O2 solution with another autoflowering seed. The autoflower looks like it's just getting started on a tap root, and if so, I'll transplant it back into seed starting mix tomorrow. I figure letting the seeds float on the meniscus is better than letting them sink since they can get some air.

The H2O2 appears to work a treat. My autoflowering seed and one of the DMs is already putting out a taproot in under 24 hours. The DMs are around seven years old!

I transplanted both to top quality seed starting mix and watered with fresh H2O2 solution. Here's hoping the other one pops and I get at least one female. If I get a male I will absolutely make a few dozen seeds or so. They'll have to veg for a good 80 days since the last autoflowering seed will need that long to flower and finish. By then I should have six Ice Cream clones in the tent and both DMs ready to go.

Just smoked some fan leaf from the autoflower that is furthest along. I defoliated a little yesterday to give the lower buds more light.

My oldest autoflower. Around 45 days old and 9-10" tall (I packed more soil around the bottom few inches to help support it). Bud all the way from the cotyledons to the top! It's only been flowering for 18 days or so and is fattening up nicely. Lots of trichs and it smells great. I think she has around 5 weeks to go.

My little female smells like good cocoa and coffee; definitely some lovely terpenes at present. The bud is rock hard too. I have another two confirmed females in the tent that are just showing preflowers now, and two more that are unsexed.

The Ice Cream is doing very well. The first leaves were a little crinkly, but she's straightened out and is on her third leaf set.
