Gardener's Choice

I was having a hard time getting clones in my area, so I finally ordered some seeds last October 2012. I didn't really know what breeders to choose from so I went with economy and ordered the Gardener's Choice and some OG Kush from Humboldt Seed Co.

I also got 2 Sag freebies, for a total of 12 mystery seeds. I don't really have the space to be screwing around, and I'm finishing up my bag seed grow, so I'm not terribly excited about the plant and search process in this case. But when you get the itch you gotta scratch it, so I popped the biggest seed of the 12 into a shot glass of PH'd water for 24-36 hours.

I have been listening to the 'Free Weed' podcasts, and I think it was Simon from Serious Seeds who said that he germinated in paper towels in a plastic bag hung vertically. Made some sense so I tried that this time, even though I haven't had any germination problems with my soak 'n' plant method yet.

That was May 15, two weeks ago, and I have since planted into a recycled apple juice bottle, and kept the sprout under 24 hours of light. It rotates from clone chamber at night to flower chamber (400w HPS) during day, then to veg chamber (CFL) at lights out until veg chamber's lights out at 11 pm then clone area overnight (if I remember before I go to sleep!).
It's the weirdest seedling I've grown, but I don't have that much experience. I combed Sag's forum recently and remembered pics of strange torn-looking children.

I gave 5 of the seeds to a friend, and he has started germing them. We have other stuff to play with, but the lure of the unknown beckons...

It seemed like peeps were getting alot of Mangolian Indica and Diamond Head from the Mystery Mix in the past. I will skim through again to compare what we've got.

Any input is welcome! And yes I know that clear plastic is bad for roots, but I was doing a bunch of tomato and pepper transplants and can't stand to waste shit!

I'm excited to see the revitalization of Sagarmatha that FOE20 is undertaking! I'm excited about an American Thunder F**k! I grew up hearing legends about 'Alaskan Thunder F**k,' and this would just close a personal loop for me!

Oh, about it's appearance, I just wanted to add that my gf & I's impression upon first glance was that it was flowering! The new leaves are so tight!
Of course it's not flowering.

Thanks for stopping by, guys! I transplanted the seedling on Friday, when it was about a week old, into slightly larger digs (4" square pot I think). I forgot why I used peat pots, and had a hell of a time cutting the apple juice container apart. Most of the soil fell away from the roots but I slopped her in the new pot best I could. Watered it good, then went out of town for the weekend. Lookin' pretty happy:

Still a weird little plant, but it's quite vigorous. I've only fed it once with 1/4 tsp/gal liquid seaweed. I'm really starting to like it!
We'll go visit the other 5 seedlings tomorrow and see how they're coming along...

Good stuff, I have a very old pack of the Gardener's Choice that I haven't been able to germ yet, but I will try the last five in hydrogen peroxide solution when I get around to it.

It does seem to have a weird look to it. Looking forward to seeing how it stretches/internodel spacing. Hans

How old's your pack, Gelado?
Hey hansNfrans, it sure has tight nodes. It got a second one today, less than 1/4". Even spotted some little resin glands on it
I was browsing opiomo's guerilla grow and his NL auto's struck me as similar in structure to this seedling. Too early to tell, but maybe it's NL#9...
Went to my buddy's and got some pics but haven't uploaded them yet. Four out of five of his seeds are up. They are a bit stretchy with no true leaves yet.

OKD, I think it's from '06 or '07. It's the only Sag strain I could afford at the time and the descriptions always made me drool. I definitely want some Western Winds too!
