First time - Making tea for IBS

Hello, I'm new to the forum. Smoking cannabis has helped tremendously with dulling the pain from IBS and for the past two years nothing else has been able to help. Unfortunately, I'm too high to do anything else when I smoke.

I was hoping that maybe I could make a tea to ingest that would be a bit more mellow. I'm hoping it would be possible to dull the pain in my gut, but not get me high. Ultimately I would like to drink it before work and maybe bring some with me.

I've never made a tea before and I am a bit nervous to try. Also, I came across a thread discussing bacterias in the tea. As my IBS really set on due to a big parasite infection, I am always nervous about contracting any other problems from amoebas or protozoa.

Any info you could provide as far as dosage, instruction or advice is greatly appreciated. Thanks so much!

You might try reading the stickies in the Cannibus Concentrates forum.

Green Dragon or one of the BHO capsule recipes.

Hope this helps. bg

Tea seems to mean two different things a) tea with cannabutter or other extract added or b) tea made out of cannabis leaves (dried or fresh).

I´ve made cocoa with extracts and it get´s me high as ever but with raw leaves it´s different -not much of a high.

I get no painrelief from using leaves for tea but some people swear by it and it can´t hurt you, just soak the clean leaves in boiling water and add a sweetener.

This is just my 2c´s.

MMJ is a bandaid. The GI tract makes up >80% of your immune system To have IBS it has been out of balance for a very long time

You need to clean both it and your liver.

Dr Hulda Clarke Liver Cleanse will do both.

You need to do this once per 2-3 weeks for maybe a year

In addition you need to replenish the good bacteria with a combination of soil-based probiotics (I take Pet Flora) and Kefir (goat preferably), both of which are part of my regular supplements

For IBS you need to heal your leaky gut first, and that is through diet. Whole 30 helped me a lot to heal my leaky gut and AIP (auto immune paleo) protocol helped, but it was much more strict than whole30 I felt, and whole 30 was easier for me to stay on.

hi, I deal with nausea.
I grow strong canna which I do a frozen quick wash on and then use bad kittysmiles wonderful process to decarb it. https://cannapedia.me/Citric+Acid+Extraction
One of my comforts are small cups of hash tea.
I put a small bit of olive oil in the bottom of the cup, break up about 50 mg into little tiny small pieces and add an inch of tea.
I put it in my little microwave for 30 seconds and take it and whisk it with a and whisk for a minute or so- takes quite a while, and then stick it back in for 45 seconds, after which I hit it with the whisk again for like 30 seconds or so.
I do not add more tea, I drink it out of a small cup. I love to add key lime to it.
It helps a great deal with pain and nausea, and I consume lots of it.
I do indeed 'feel it', and would advise doing this when one has free time to get a feel for it.
I sure accept what previous poster mentioned about diet changes.
I have had to make many changes to my diet, and eat more ginger, chillies and garlic and curry than I ever thought possible.
For years I used to do the traditional 'soft' diet, and it did not work at all for me. Nausea all the time.
A nurse who lived next door suggested I try starting with very small amounts of ginger to try to 'toughen up ' my gut.
I would have tried anything.
I was almost instantly shocked at the difference it made for me. I left my bland diet behind, and went with one that is real hot, and my nausea has been reduced.
Not gone, but reduced.

Definitely. I would recommend decarboxylating you cannabis prior to making tea. I personally decarb my bud, then I bring almond or soy milk to a simmer, add the ground cannabis, and mix for 10 minutes. Easy and works every time.

I would suggest making an alcohol tincture like green dragon.
This way, you only need teaspoon/s, not whole cups of spicy grassy tea...Thats what weed tea tastes like if made like regular tea with boiling water, it doesn't have much effect and I don't find it soothing to the stomach either (coca tea and mint tea are both worth trying for that though.)

Also to avoid bacteria, boil the whole tincture for 5 min before straining the herb.
This will sterilise, decarboxylate, and extract the last of the resin into the tincture.

That's great you have improved with natural foods, and very interesting that spicy food helped, have you tried Rocoto chilli's?
They are supposedly better for the stomach than habenero types.
They also have a better flavour (I grow them.)
