Any Advice on Spotting a Good Sin Diesel Pheno in Veg?
The title pretty much says it all. It's that ugly time of the year where I have to kill off most of my plants to stay within the provisions of my liscence and any tips on spotting a desirable pheno would be appreciated.

Nobody seems to grow this strain. You think it would be more popular given its lineage. It's still very early in flower but the strain is looking good. Nice vigor, and early frosting at the bud sites. It is actually keeping pace with my Nepalese Jam which is no easy feat.
The only thing I can say that I don't like about the strain is its high odor and the columnar indica style structure of the plants which doesn't suit my grow style well but those same traits could be considered desirable by other growers depending on what they are looking for. If I run them again I probably won't scrog them.

She looks way more sativa leaning than any of mine. Best of luck with your grow.
![]() From what I can tell this strain really doesn't stretch much at all once you flip the lights.

That's a really nice looking plant. I'm kind of envious in that I was looking for a nice sativa leaning pheno like yours but mine are both far more indica looking in structure.
Disregard my earlier advice about Sin D stretching very little since I don't have any phenos that are like yours. Your girl looks like she has a lot more diesel traits and diesel likes to stretch. My girls cloned very easily as well. It's a really nice looking strain so far. I am still a few weeks away from harvest but the plants are very frosty and carrying decent weight so I'm looking forward to testing how they smoke.

Sin Diesel is a well blended hybrid, not a ton of variation, most will be close to 50/50 from both parents. Sour Diesel has rounder leaves, and generally C99's fans are more towards the sat side. Id use a male with a solid structure, not too much stretch, but really, You wont find many Sin D phenos that are too stretchy.
Its best to flower out your keeper males, I understand most growers dont have the room, or just dont want to flower a bunch of males, so without flowering them out, the next best way is Like DJ said, give em a stem rub, and take into consideration the structure, vigour etc. Sin D is solid gear, easy to grow, performs well in most environments.. good yields, good day time meds.. nice taste/smell... sweet and sour, or sour candy like.. That will make more sense once you get further along into bloom... |
