Organicbuds Does GanjaRebel Outdoors

So it's spring time 2013 and the weather has been great in my area. The month of April was warm and less windy than a normal year, nice for starting seeds. I popped a handful of seeds early March, and they are nice and big already. So far I have 5 plants showing sex, and 5 females. 3 or 4 are Blue Dream x 5g and 1 or 2 are Double Og Sour. This year I am not trying to grow the biggest plants ever, but I am trying to grow the highest quality herb I have ever grown. The rest of the seeds were started at the start of April, and a few around 4/20.

For soil this year I took two approaches. I drove a total of six hours and grabbed soil from a worm farm in Chico, Ca. This is the soil I am most exited about. The other soil I mixed up 3-400 gallons of a mix that has treated me well in the past. If anybody wants me to post up the soil mix, with soil tests, just let me know. After mixing my soil, getting the tests, then I re-amended the soil with the recommendations given. So I hope to have two fantastic soil mixes this year. I have also added a heap of worms from my bins to all my smart pots that already have the soil ready to go.

At transplants I add roots organics organism to the roots and I add Mycos globally. I also like to make an AACT (actively aerated compost tea) a couple days after transplant.

Other goals I am setting this year are as follows:

Test weekly Brix and plant sap ph
Maintain brix percentages above 12 at all times (unless a storm is coming, ext)
Maintain plant sap ph of 6.4, give or take .4
Use foliar feedings as main feed for plants
Find a good calcuim foliar product
Create a fantastic final product

So lets hope this year brings everybody a bountiful harvest, and don't forget to share with friends and family. Nothing like giving a friend a full basket of heirloom tomatoes and hot peppers from the garden. It's a unique way of getting to know somebody and that's the way our ancestors did things. Enough hippy talk, lets see some pics.

Twins!

Organic Buds I am taking a front row seat for this.

Sounds like you're off to a great start. Interesting to read about the two different soils. Love the worms cruising around in your mix as well, spreading their black gold with the ladies.

Of course its probably not shining today if you are 6 hours from Chico, but maybe..

Thanks man, love to have your company. I only live 3 hours from Chico, I was talking round trip. Those pics were taken that day, and the sun was back out. Living close to the bay I tend to get morning fog or clouds that get pushed out from an on shore breeze by afternoon. Anyways, thanks for stopping in, I hope this grow show is epic.

Thanks for checking in GanjaRebel, I got a question for you. How big do the Double og's get? I have one pot that is bigger than the rest, and I am sure a Blue Dream x 5g should take the larger pot. However I am tempted to throw the Double OG in the large pot. BTW, super vigor on the BD x 5G, transplanted them last week from ones to 5 gals and they already have roots shooting out the bottom.

Any advice?

Def put the BD x 5G's in the bigger pot. The Double OG Sour is the shit and you'll love them, full OG and impressive yield. But the vigor will still never compare the the BD X 5G's. I've got both going and the BD x 5G's are outgrowing just about everything, even the other BD hybrids.
Happy growing bro.

Thank you GanjaRebel, this weekend I am going to put my first couple plants in their final pots. Sounds like the BD x 5g's are going to get the biggest pot in the yard. I hope she doesn't get too massive, lol. 150 gal pot, the first time I have gone that large. I normally only grow in 65 gals, but this year I have 8 100gal, 1-150gal, and 3 65's.

GRS - You ever heard or work with a strain called Hassan? It would have been around since 96'. Best strain I ever laid eyes on, smoked pounds of that herb. Had a clone when I was fresh out of high school, but lost it fast. I miss the Hassan.....

It's going to be an amazing garden. Love me a good seed grow, hope you don't mind if I pull up a chair! I'm curious, what's the "5G" in the Blue Dream cross?

How do you use the hoops? Do you cover your plants at any stage?
