Welcome Catnip followers, to the announcement of a new variety.
Let me introduce you officially Orange Pink Grapefruit, the cross of Sweet pink grapefruit and my Agent orange male.
For sure many of you are wondering already if this is the original clone of Breeder Steve Sweet pink grapefruit.
Well it's not. Unfortunately I don't have access to original clones and all my stable was built fro seeds during these years.
Sweet pink grapefruit I have is actually a work of Alpine Seeds, kindly handed by my dear friend Dimodz (where are you brother?).
Alpine seeds had the original cut and wanted to have in a seed form which didn't go self pollination.
So he selected a Sweet chunk male to outcross the SPG clone and then backcrossed it 3 times to the clone again to have the best representation in seed form.
The resulrs were the seeds I sow...
His results were a wonderful, super hardy plant with amazing colors and strong structure and amzaing smell. tight rock hard nuggets in long colas. Smell of genuine grapefruit. the olfactory sensation you have in the act of smelling a yellow fresh cut real grapefruit. Suble tones of must, grapeish, berries, lavender tones hide underneath, probably some hinheritance of sweet chunck.

We found different phenos. One more on the indica side, producin a squatter, more branched plant. Faster flowering, smelled of wonderful grape, musty, berry orangish candy. Really tasty and strong both in high and terpenes.
Was entered in 420 indica category and scored a 4th place in the indica breeder variety.

Taller one,that was entered in 420 and scored a 3rd place in the breeder sativa category, was truly beautiful. High was a strong punch in the skull, mindblowing hammer style. but freaky uplifting and cerebral in the long run.
Complex aromas of orange, citrous and grape/berries in this one.
A true love.
REsin formation is enhanced by the ao, colas are thicker bet as well as hard.
Expect strong purpling with black, brown, red tones on these.
Bag appeal would be very high.
A favourite now in mt personal stash.

GOod point. Both are crazy plants. But in smell, taste department, I'd say that nycdx ao NYCO is more pronounced in this.

OPG is more grapeish must citrous, very complex aroma.
but if you want pure sweet grapefruit go for nyco.
with names I tried to underline this.
Newyork candy orange is definitly sweet candy mandarina like nycd with orange bonus.
on the sweet side.
OPG is more bitter grapeish, like an orange-violet candy. as well as satisfying and nice.

If so, how you think they are as grapefruity smelling and tasting strains?

I just ask you because you have a taste for orange and grapefruit strains.

yes! unfortunately I missed the SOTF drop of sweettooth #4, but I grew swt3, mosca sweettooth, but the one that amazed me mostly was BBxGF by Chimera.
I think the blend bewteen spg and blueberry is one of the best.
the ways blue flavours blend with spg are fantastic.
the problem to me?
don't expect potent weed....
It's more like a relaxing weed with a lot of good taste, not psychedelic, not speedy.
Better for a relaxed evening or a good warm bath...
the relaxying quality may be used as well to lower sum anxiety from potent sativa.
they're very good weed, very tasty, even if the pure grapefruit is abit smothered down by sweet blueberry.
expect tight buds that tend to mold in not perfect envitoment.
