After so much work and time and efforts after a project, so long time has gone, I'm wearing some white hairs since everything begun, but now I can proudly say that, at last, I achieved my breeding goal of the orange grapefruit project.
Yes guys, I'm happy to announce that NYCO - New York Candy Orange is a new Catnip variety!

The journey begun a long time ago with my love with the incredible taste and smell of nycd bought in amsterdam... it was love at first sight.
but to achieve it in seed form was very difficult for me.

These seed projects led me to discover the beauty of other plants which became some staples in my stables...
Among these the Agent Orange,which no leads as the stud of catnip.
All his siblings are worth a try. This male is quite recessive in many traits, but adds up an intense resin coverage of buds, early appearing, which ends in larger, stickier colas, of the final product. Expect rock hard shiny nuggets.
But the most amazing characteristic is the orange citrous bouquet he adds to the cross.

Everyone who met it fell suddenly in love with this orangeness, me included, that I couldn't help to mix it with the best plants I had.

At the time of the discovery of the orange male, I hadn't found yet my pheno of nycd, so nycd ghaze was the first experiment.
It was a blast!
Orange and nycd haze together made a crazy cross, and it was during the production of this one that I found my nycd keeper.
After so many seeds (I count nearly 200+) tried I couldnt believe it...
The exact nycd flavour from amsterdam that I was after....
So how couldn't I cross it with ao male?

I needed to test it myself first before giving anyone the seeds.
This seedline was too precious for me not to be tested as first.
When I saw and smelled the first resin on the small buds I almost cried for joy...
to see that nycd was there,with some added citrous orange bonus to it...

My first official tester was Besthaze, and around there are some new genuine seeds.
But it was when I first tried a puff of a joint of these that I understood that my breeding goal was achieved.
Nycd genuine red ruby grapefruit pheno, enhanced by orange...
A pure delight!
A candy flavour, sweet, citrous, creamy, rich and tasty..
A sure winner.
Besthaze's work was spectacular and produced very very fine buds.
Potency, taste, smell and yield, everything is there.
The final test was at 420 cup this year, where it scored a 3rd place in indica breeder category.
And my entry as pure nycd scored a 4th place in the indica grower category too!

I had massive feedback from people on this one, and it really fills my heart.

Still loving my orange candy pheno of Sour Orange. Yes your AO male certainly does pass on that great orange flavor!

When are you sending more beans to seed bay? I'm just about done with flowering some clones of nyg haze x ao and their looking good, especaly one male that stood out from the croud. Looking to get nyco and orange oblivion.

DoC gave me 6 bean of this special strain in AMS at CannabisCup2012...

6/6 broke the soil and 6/6 were female!!!

I call them A, B, C, D, E and F phenos ...E was the pheno that I've presented at 420ICMAGCup2013 and it won the 3rd prize in IndicaBreeder Category...
after the first test turn I've eliminated only F-pheno.
