Super Diesel Coco: Recirculating vs DTW
These got a little leggy straight away, and after the first week I found the solution to the fox tails I had been getting every time I ran these ladies (Too close to the light/tip damage). They've stopped stretching (finally, end of 4th week) and should hopefully start filling in nicely. I am using GH Flora Nova with the Flora Series Expert Recirculating feed schedule. It just now occurred to me that there is a different schedule for DTW, and it calls for HALF the same schedule amounts. I noticed already that there was little to no difference in waste between the two systems, so therefore the DTW just makes sense. I had been fighting pH drift in the recirculating system, which led me to really entertain the idea of DTW. I had avoided it for so long, thinking it was wasteful. I was very wrong! I am thinking now, should I change to the DTW schedule or would that taint the results of the experiment? I theory, the results would be nefarious by changing the parameters part way through but, in the interest of saving nutes, I think I will next change. I fully expect to see better results from the DTW.
Last time the Recurc kept drifting down, way down, sometimes to 5.0 overnight. I flushed the medium with pH appropriate water and a tad bit of CalMag, and that seems to level it out. I am now pretty solid at 5.8 throughout the week long res cycle. Started out in 1" RW>4" RW> 2gal Smart Pots w Cana Coco. Happy to hear any opinions or input. Thanks! -The Green Reaper |

Hey thanks Able Mind! The rest of the progression is here:
https://www.icmag.com/ic/showthread.php?t=261197 I started this thread and I think this forum (side by side) takes a little while for it to be moderated so, I thought it wasn't going to show up and started another thread. Now I know better.
