My garden borders a creek.
Each spring the bank creeps closer and I'm loosing real estate. I am thinking of planting comfrey due to its deep roots, but also wanted to ask the community and see what ideas are out there. Thanks for the input! F. |

How tall is the bank? Does the creek flood and erode the bank, or is it constant? For fast-moving water (flood, rapids), the only thing that will really stop it is rock, and lots of it. Depending on the situation, you could dump rock and build up the bank, or build baskets and use smaller rocks to build a retaining wall. Bigger is better. I'll try to get some pictures of what I'm talking about later today.
