MP3 player or just smartphone for music - Music - International Cannagraphic Magazine Forums

What would be the best option, player or phone? With smartphone I don't really care with internet as I wouldn't use it. Ipod's are quite good but don't suite for me as I'm linux user and I like to get all the sets and mixes get fast into device i.e I don't like the hussle that comes with it. It should be also quite cheap as I would use only when traveling (it can get lost, stolen, etc). Plus hold lots of music and lot's listening time before batteries get empty. Tho I would like to use google earth, but prices can come out pretty extreme if there are no prestored versions saved.

All recommendations are welcome.

When I travel I load my phone's 32 GB sd card with tunes and vids.
iPod locally in my car.

I travel light, so an extra device is a drag.

An iPod 5 video can be hacked. Rockbox. Cheap, too.
