You really don't need to set up an llc for a small company. You can just have a sp/dba and be a legit business. The only reason you would want an llc is if you are worried about liability like your business getting sued. I think for a lot of things like this an llc would be more hassle than it's worth. Of course if you are out driving drunk people around or something like that I would probably go ahead and incorporate haha. Also do not try to form any other type of corporation like an s-corp or whatever. Then you have limits on what you can do with your money etc.

Set up a spray-tanning business.

As a side bonus, you may get to meet some hot chicks.

I ran as a SP for 3 years, then the tax folks wanted to dig into my books, since I wasn't turning (what they considered) enough revenue. Forming the LLC is a good step towards convincing them that you're serious about the business as a living, not just as a hobby that you get paid enough to support (or are using to deduct a bunch of stuff from other income). And every business should be worried about liability, lots of folks out there looking for that golden ticket, even if it costs you your house and retirement fund. For less than $300, it's good peace of mind. You'd probably be fine for 2 or 3 years in most businesses before you "had" to incorporate.

No pun intended but a small laundromat in the right area would pay for itself and let you claim some extra income. I've seen a couple of laundromats that the owner visits only once a day for a couple hours at most (to collect the cash mostly). CCTV, change machine, vending machine, etc. All you need is a good maintenance person in case any equipment breaks, since its legit should be easy to find someone.
Good luck.

I'd say start a business that is similar to what you do, so you can deduct equipment that you actually use. (tractor, greenhouse, irrigation, etc) You could plant fruit trees, perennials, take cuttings of plants and sell them. I'm starting up a worm farm composting. I compost next to my greenhouse, which keeps it warm, and also live near a lake, so I'm selling the worms, and also they poop alot and reproduce faster than rabbbits, so can package and sell the worm poop, and worm tea which also allows me to grow 12 foot tall monsters.

Mobile car detailing... 100-150 bucks a pop all cash business, you are always on the move, this could be a positive in many aspects... write off on taxes for gas, eating, cleaning supplies you may even use around the house. Plus you can do 3-4 a day, start up cost... about 5k-7500 for a trailer, large water storage tank, and supplies.

Mobile detailers here gets 40.00 for a Suburban sized vehicle outside office buildings all day long. Bet he wishes he could get 100.00 to 150.00 per

Got a friend that has made a killing with coin operated car washes. Hard to find an area that doesn't have 1 already tho.

Im not talking just basic car washing, I am talking full detailing like its supposed to be done not some quick wash the Mexicans post up and do on corners.

Hand waxing, rim polish, proper interior cleaning and washing WITHOUT the use of crappy. mask-a-clean armor-all.

I did this for about 6 years of my life from 13-19, took about 2 hours per car but 75 bucks each 150 split between my buddy and I for 2 hours wasn't bad at all and at the time we were undercutting the cheapest competition by 50 bucks for a full by hand detail. Biggest perk besides being the only kid in my school with hundreds in his pocket, was I got to sit in and clean some SICK cars because of our clientele and area we lived in. Got to sit in a Bugatti before I ever knew what a Bugatti was lol.

Got cha. Takes some dedication, and a strong back to do that type of detailing work. People here out for the quick buck. No telling how many cars they wash through in a days time.

not at all uncommon to spend or make $5k+ on pro quality studio monitors or vintage gibson les pauls.

selling stuff on ebay requires no store front, and $$$ is handled thru paypal, then transferred to my bank acct.
tile sucks ,was a huge money maker when slick willy was in office though
