it was never called Chem D IBL just Chemdog IBL... and I don't believe there were ever any releases from REZ using a Chemdog IBL male??? I know he used one of his Bx or Bx2 males to make Killer Chem but that was days before he even had made the Chem IBL

it was the SD in the Chem 4D, the Sour Diesel is what he used in outcrosses all the time that added the "D" to the new strain name, that was the thing Chem 4D.... it was supposed to be like the chemdog sour diesel but with an even better yield potential, since the 4 cutting is the heavier yield chem...

I think August West grew it... If I am correct I am sure he could verify

For reference and viewing pleasure,here are a few 4SD pics. It's Chem 4 x SD. I have several different phenos, and everytime I grow these pheno's, they always produce a small amount of viable S1's, which in turn always produce slightly different pheno's. IMHO, from what I've found so far, the sour dominant pheno's are the one's I usually keep. They are the best yielders, and have the best sour-chemy flavor when smoked.

Rez told me in chat year's ago, that the Chem4 momma that he used to make 4SD had to be back crossed 3 seperate times with male Sour D pollen to make it acquire the Sour D gene. He mentioned most strains that he turned sour only took one dose of Sour D pollen to make them forever sour.

Yes, AW had an amazing run of 4SD that was documented in an older thread.

Here are a few pic's of my favorite 4SD pheno. Take note of her orange colored pistil's. She tastes like lime sour diesel, and she's way potent too.
