we just had a dude with a small excavator do some stump stuff, and the road, and a spot for the greenhouse..650$ worth(9 hours)...and that was the easiest, most economical way
Amfo sounds great. Find a place that sells ammonium nitrate in big bags...let me know dynamite? pre 911, someone tried to get dynamite, allegedly...it took 2 vehcles, one for caps, one for sticks. it took $ 1,000,000 of insurance on each vehicle. And it took a thing saying it would be used same day. these were the rules for a private citizen, in 199os. and dude tole me that the truck would be fucked on anything bigger than 4" or 5". so we hired that other dude to do the work with the cat! just my recent experience...if you so plan on doing it yourself, the thought of the barrel around the stump while burning(esp after holes are drilled!) sounds safe...burning stumps works but can stay smoldering for a fuckin long time, so bee careful. dont use roundup or any monsanto products for anything...they are poison

Roundup only really kills green growing stuff, won't do anything to roots but poison the soil around them. Have a couple friends who do blasting, they say the paperwork takes 80% of their time with all the gov't nonsense involved.
Stump grinding works, depends on what you want to do with the ground afterwards. Fine for a lawn, be a pain in the garden though. Unless you do it yourself, getting rid of trees is a pretty costly operation. Just read the directions on the "Stump Out" that I have, lot of work and time, plus they tell you to pour Kerosene or fuel oil on it to burn the stump. I grow my food in the yard, so that's out. Also says to let stumps season for at least a year! Hope you find a way. |

Play Justin Beiber to the stump. It should soon uproot and run like Forrest Gump!

Yea man, if you can't burn it out, and you can't hire a machine or someone with a machine, then it's going to be blood, sweat and tears. A whole lot of em.
